I don't understand for the life of me why he would throw it in

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
Floyd's teams were HORRIBLE without Willoughby...when star players that are leaned on struggle-their teams struggle...when they play good, the results are usually better...just take the win and quit whining....we won. Iowa State's record tonight was 1-0. Craig Brackins record tonight was 0-0.

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
It's a good win. Period!!!

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
I would like to state one more time that I am pumped with this win. I am just not going to call Greg McDermott a wonderful coach, yet, like some on this board just did. That is all I am saying

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
Larry lost to Hampton. A 15 seed.
He is honestly a very overrated coach.

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
Great win, good to see us improve on the road...but here is my take looking long term. It is clear that McD rode CB's *** all week long in practice to try to fire him up a bit. It obviously worked, but we have seen no level on consistancy with CB in the past. Hopefully it wont take McD getting on his case to get him to play this inspired, but I am worried that it will and I am also worried that we will go as far as Craig takes us. A good win, and a win that the team and the fans needed very badly...but one win over a CUSA team does not really make up for losses to SDSU and Hawaii...and I does little to change my opinion of McD.

See post above. All those coaches coached us to Sweet 16 or better. We are losing to SDSU. The only games we have won or played well this year have been when Craig has been hot. That is a fact.
I have never once blamed a player leaving on McDermott.
Phil Jackson has won 9 championships!!! You are bringing up the worst example ever. We have now won how many games? 8? And most of them have been when CB is on fire. Thus my point. Greg still has A LOT TO PROVE!!!
So you hate Greg more or less... Or at least you don't like him and don't believe in him.
We get it. But it was a good win tonight and there is no need to be a jerk. Many people are happy and excited. Let them celebrate. I"m one of them actually.
I'm sure you probably boo Santa and complain about what you get for Christmas too...

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
From someone who has been all but asking to put GMac on notice.....he just bought more time as far as I am concerned. No, this wasn't Kansas.....but it wasn't SDSU either. And for the whole group to buck up after the SDSU flop........that's says something. And maybe I was wrong about Mac. I guess time will tell, and as far as I am concerned, he just bought another year.
Oh Mac......don't ruin the honeymoon against Mercer!

If you knew the real story, than you would know that Tinsley lost that game against Hampton
Eustachy was a great coach. You don't coach teams to a 32-5 season and be considered overrated.

Maybe we can get ourselves a meltdown
I agree with you wholeheartedly. But back to the topic at hand.
Good road win, Cyclones! Very nice to get one on the road, and great to see Brackins step it up. Sure, this is why he's so frustrating. It's obvious that the talent is there to dominate, and he just isn't putting it together every game yet. As soon as that happens, he will explode!
Big XII Player of the Week again this week?

I don't hate Greg at all. I actually started many threads last year showing my support of Greg McDermott. MANY!!!
All I am saying is that he has done a very very poor job thus far this season and while I am excited over this win, it doesn't change the fact that I still thing he has a lot to prove.
I swear some ISU fans think if you aren't 100% positive all the time, than you are a jerk or not a true fan

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
Good win. This will make my next few days off much more enjoyable but we still have a ways to go so lets not get cocky.
Boozer played well, so did petey and obviously CB. DG hit some really big shots there at the end.
My biggest complaint is late game free throws...seriously, when does it stop!?

Free throws is an all-the-time problem, not just the end of the game.
On the other hand, Boozer played well! Really. And not in garbage time.
I hear Boozer played well.

Re: Fire Greg Mcdermott!
I know this is just a mediocre win to some of you, but this a good moment for a struggling team. They won on the road against a good Houston team that has been on a roll. This should help them build some of the confidence they have been lacking. Im sure this season will be some ups with alot of downs, but this team has alot going for it. Saw some good things tonight that keep me positive.
