Lucca's quiet success?
Lucca Staiger drilled 3-of-5 treys in the victory...Staiger is currently on pace to have one of the most accurate seasons in ISU history from long range...he leads the team with 34 treys at a 44.7 percent, which currently stands as the sixth-best single-season 3-point percentage clips in ISU history.

Leads the team with 34 treys! I couldn't believe it when I read it! I hope he is able to care this into the Big 12. I believe when the early success of Wes I didn't really think of Lucca as our best 3 point shooter...Looks like he may break some records this season. Good for him! I have been to 4 games this year and don't recall him lightin it up (wasn't at the Drake game)...

FREE LUCCA! Oh man what do you guys chant this year?

Re: Lucca's quiet success?
He is doing really well in a (sometimes) quiet sort of way. I think this is good in light of the long period of time where expectations were building. He's definitely going to be a good one! -
Re: Lucca's quiet success?
He seems to be moving better and getting back into form.

You can't die. That would upset the equilibrium in the Cave.

That could have something to do with recovery from the injury as well. Planting and taking off/ change of direction could surely be hampered by that. -
Re: Lucca's quiet success?
Best 3 point shooter we have had in a long time IMO. He had as smooth of a release as I have seen

I know we just had a thread about to many abbreviations)

Re: Lucca's quiet success?
Of course it's been quiet... He has the ability to defeat his foes with his vicious sneer. If you see it with your own eyes, your brain will hemorrhage. That's why nobody is talking about him, for fear of too much or too little praise. -
Re: Lucca's quiet success?
Lucca's a very good spot shooter with a quick, high release. He has been moving better as the year goes on and as been following shots to the basket very well. My understanding is that he is a very effective passer but sometimes passes way to hard. He definitely has a Big 12 body.
On the dribbling side, he very seldom dribbles with his off-hand...very predictable if you isolate on him and watch. All in all however, teams will need to respect Lucca's ability to shoot the three. He is the one person on the team that needs to shoot more 3's.
