The Nebraska home game last year was on a Saturday and it was after the 100 year reunion game thing. We came back after being down big at half to win. Great game

The students are back in school, but you know a lot of people are going to blame the weather (rightfully so for some) for not making it to the game. So what do you think?
I am going with 11K butts in the seats I think there will be a good crowd 12,000+

Re: Attendance for tonights game?
10K maybe? I'd be shocked if Cyclone Alley is more than 1/2 full tonight because I'm sure they'll blame the weather for not coming. I don't know what it is with the students in the past few years but we were a .500 team my freshmen year coming off a 12-18 season prior to that which I believe was Floyd's last season at ISU and not only did we not have nearly as many lower level seats as they do now but if you wanted to sit in the first 1/2 of the upper deck you had to be there a good 30-45 minutes before tipoff else you were sitting in the last 5 rows in the upper deck by tipoff and this wasn't just Big 12 games but a lot of non-conference too. I once sat out in the freezing cold at 7am for a 3pm tipoff for Kansas one year and still didn't land a lower level seat. Last year you probably could have got one if you walked in at tipoff.
I know I have a reputation for criticizing the student section but yes I feel a little jealous of what you guys have and take for granted that we didn't have even 5-10 years ago. It ticks me off because I would rather be down standing up the entire game standing in Cyclone Alley than in my 11th row corner balcony seats where I can't do that without getting yelled at by the neighbors probably. When CA has all those open seats to me that just shows the rest of Hilton just how much the students don't care to make it to a BB game right now. I know this statement might tick a few more of you off but I hope Pollard sees that and takes a few more seats away and forces some of you to the upper deck like it used to be since you are wasting seats he could be cashing in on with some higher priced tickets.

Re: Attendance for tonights game?
I believe the seats in the upper deck behind the hoops are both available for purchase through the ticket office and not solely for Cyclone Alley. The number of students attending games I think can be explained in a few ways, one being Iowa State hasn't put a product on the floor that's jaw dropping in a few years so most students don't care. My question for you travman23 is why would he boot out the people in the lower level of Cyclone Alley? I can assure you if he did that, I would considering telling him to shove it where the sun don't shine before I bought my upper level tickets.

I totally agree. I didn't miss a freaking game in my 4 year career at State. Get out there and help this team...I don't care how cold it is....run in to Hilton when you park your car...that is what I did....then get involved in the game.....you only get 4 years of this...make it count....... Hilton Magic starts with the students.....we should try to finish out the year with a great conference record at home.

12k announced, <8k there. I never said anything about jobs. I said if your excuse is the weather, you are just being lazy. Especially with the students.

If the students aren't going to fill those sections why not sell some to people that are going to pay good money to sit there. Take a look at the donor levels for the lower level. https://admin.xosn.com//share/ViewPh...D_IMAGE_SIZE=0Lower level corners right now are $495 a ticket and a minimum $2500 Cyclone Club membership. We always talk about raising money to up the athletic budget and pay for renovations and here's 1 spot that money could come from if the students don't want to do their part and fill up the sections they are given.
You students have some prime real estate for seating in Hilton so don't take it for granted! If I remember it used to be sections 110 and 111 and the 3 sets of bleachers in front of 142, 101, and 102 then the whole upper deck side between 208 and 215 that was all students when I was there and that was 98-02. And we'd not only fill that lower level (for awhile you only got to sit down there 4 games a season in reserved seats) but would fill the upper deck section pretty good as well.

Re: Attendance for tonights game?
I think we'd all like to have more student attendance. However, if you look at it this way, if you were a senior this year and it was your fourth year, you would have seen exactly one winning basketball season, your freshman year, which was probably one of the most disappointing seasons in memory. ISU basketball wouldn't have beaten a ranked team your entire career as a student.
Cyclone Alley might need some more folks but there are PLENTY of empty seats all over Hilton, including a lot of parquet spots. Those seats might be paid for but they sure aren't used. My wife gets two of her bosses parquet tickets pretty often and the seats in the row directly in front of us and to the right of us haven't been used one time when we've been there.

Your time as a student also coincided with the best ISU teams in history as well.
I was a student from 00-...06, hehe, and for the majority of my time I had no problem finding a seat and that includes the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Especially 2003. IMO things have improved student wise from 2003.

Re: Attendance for tonights game?
Give me a Cyclone Alley Shirt and your unused student tickets and I'll sit down in those empty seats, stand all game, and cheer like hell! I bet you a lot of folks on this board would do the same. I know for a fact there are several of us up in the corner balcony that aren't too far removed from our days at ISU that would glady take you up on that offer.
