first off gabe got in foul trouble and had just an all around off night and it was Artino's first game in 4-A... ames is a tough team to get you first shot of the season at. combine their averages and they are good for 35 points and 20 reb, it was just a tough night and good defense.

Artino's got range though! the halfcourter was funny

    Re: Ames vs. Waukee

one thing..... since you go to ames why should you be impressed by a dunk off the backboard by HB? thats like a common occurence. the guy is number 4 in the country for a reason.

....i just find it funny that everyone at Ames thinks hes god and can do no wrong and are pretty much worshiping him.

    Re: Ames vs. Waukee

I don't think I worship him, but given his ranking and ability and the way his team is playing, in a basketball world of Iowa......he pretty much is and can not do any wrong.

Edit: Oh, and I'm just an AHS alum.

Ya the half courter was nice. But i just think artino is to lean to be much of a prospect, don't get me wrong he will put up good #'s in hs, but against good competition he doesn't look very good. Also for 6'9 he can't get to the rim very well.

Gabe looked bad, but i know he can play,HB tore him up all night. Also his free throws were very ugly...

yeah idk what is wrong with Gabe. he shot 75% from the line last year and this season he is down around 50%

Artino needs to beef up, but i heard the UNI coach was there watching? so hes getting looks. he didnt really have many chances to go to the rim because kohler just out muscled him, the one run out he had he was force to shoot with his right hand (hes lefty) so he didnt really go up strong. hes got a decent stroke though

....ames guards murdered a very weak backcourt of waukee

I was impressed with the whole play, how weber set it up and the thunderous finish, plus it was a statement to your school who had no chance of playing with us. You guys would be doing the same thing after every dunk like us, heck you do it with gabe whose dunks arent that nice.

we are all jealous? we realize we are a school of suburban white kids and none of us can be that good. we just had fun making fun of the god-like status HB holds in ames. thats why we cheered every shot in warm ups by him

"school of suburban white kids" man you just described 99% of Iowa. Lets leave race and anything else out and enjoy a good game between to quality teams. Waukee is in great shape considering how soon they've madea name since moving up in class. I'm a AHS alum and my wife works for the Waukee school district. No need for bad blood.
