Re: Wow, We're Playing Against a Really Young / Inexperienced Kansas Team
One thing that I noticed this year about KU is that they are not playing the in your face ball pressure defense that they normally play in past years. They are playing more lose of a defense I don't know if it is they don't have the players to do it this year or what. Teams get into their offense a lot easier.

Youth, player turnover, and 0.500 seasons. That does not instill confidence in our players. So next year when Colvin and Gilstrap play, are we still young?
What if they start? Two first year players in the program
How bout the year after? Dykstra, Kadima, and possibly Barnes. Are we still young?
Youth IS NOT AN EXCUSE. Talent is. When we start getting better players overall in, we will get better...faster

Does it really matter? KU has better talent and coaching, sadly, and there is no way McD is going to get the guys to pull this win out.

Coach Mcd is gonna outcoach Bill Self. In a staring contest.

We come with a bench of

Junior (TR) - Vanderbeeken Based soley on the "experience" rationale, I can't think of any reason or any excuse why ISU should not make this a competitive game, with good possibility for victory. **If** the game somehow turns into a blowout by KU, it will be very hard for me to see how the reason(s) for said blowout is (are) anything other than issues that the coaching staff is responsible for...

Have you guys seen KU play away from home? They have played 3 games so far this year on the other teams court and got blown out in two of them. The other one was in Boulder where 60% of the fans were Jayhawks. This team is capable of losing away from home to everybody but CU. I do think they will be quite a bit better by the end of the year, but right now they are not very good.

Looking at experience only, we are no different than they are. But in all fairness, according to Scout.com, Kansas has had 7 4 star recruits sign in the last two classes and Collins is 5 star and Morningstar is a 4 star from the previous class. That makes NINE four star or better players of their 13 scholarship players. ISU has had 1 in Craig Brackins.
Both teams are young but talent wise, we aren't even on the same page.

Agreed. KU is nothing special this year, as other teams have proven. This is a must-win for ISU.

This is as down as KU will get and if we want to grab any momementum for upcoming years we need to do it now as every team above us is reloading with players as good as or better than the guys we are bringing in...

So our excuse is not youth but rather TALENT? That I will agree with
Also I think Aldrich was a McDonalds All American

Both teams are young but talent wise, we aren't even on the same page. All that KU talent apparently didn't bother a decimated Arizona team, which pounded the Jayhawks in Tucson. Outside of Budinger and Horne, the Wildcats don't have much. Oh, and they are currently 2-4 in the Pac 10.
KU is very beatable, unless ISU talks themselves out of it.
