Oregon State
Don't look now, but that Oregon St. win is looking better and better. They just upset a very good Cal team. They've also beat Nebraska and USC.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Re: Oregon State
Hmmm, Mizzou beat USC also. We beat Nebraska, who beat Mizzou, who killed us, who beat USC, I really dont know where this is going. All I know is Oregon State did not look good when they played us at Hilton.

Not a member of your local optimist club I take it?

However, I watched them play tonight and they played incredibly well down the stretch. Seems Obama's brother-in-law is turning around Oregon state basketball.... hope Obama can do the same with the US of A.

Re: Oregon State
The Beavers did not look good early on, but they really seem to be buying into Robinson's system. They are playing better now then at any time in my 8 years in Corvallis. OSU has a tremendous basketball tradition and it would be great for them to return to prominence.

Re: Oregon State
Possibly, but I see maybe 3 more wins on their schedule: Cal St. Bakersfield, Oregon, and...?
OK make that 2 more wins.

Re: Oregon State
Missouri is definitely better then us, but they aren't that much better. We just didn't play with much emotion at Missouri. I bet all my credits that It will be a much closer game at Hilton- might even have a chance to win it.
As for OSU, they have definitely gotten better as the season has gone on.

Re: Oregon State
Being the brother-in-law of the POTUS certainly seems to bring its advantages!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

But that is just from memory.

Re: Oregon State
I think Ralph Miller left Iowa to go coach Oregon State in the early 70's. I can't remember how successful he was but he was a big hire for them at the time.

Re: Oregon State
They are 4-10 with a 228 RPI. Let's not get crazy here.

Re: Oregon State
They had a player join them right before their Nebraska game that has been a difference maker. Not sure who it was though.

Re: Oregon State
That new player is most likely a government bailout! -
Re: Oregon State
I wonder how all the publicity Robinson is getting will effect his recruiting... You don't hear many bottom feeder teams getting their coaches on Rome, Patrick, etc. but Robinson seems to be a regular on the National circuit... It certainly can't hurt...

So you are going out on a ledge and saying we are going to cover 31 points at home against Missouri?
I too would bet all my credits that it will be a closer game. How can it not be?
