Look at all the posts showing the shooting percentage. Coach Mac can't exactly go out there and MAKE those shots go in. Now if you criticize his recruits I might agree, but hard to compete with Kansas. Just watch what happens if Barnes goes there. We made one push towards the 5 minute mark to get the game below 10, and they responded by putting us away. I guess we have different definitions of competitiveness, because to me thats not competitive.
I don't have to look at posts to know that besides Craig we had a bad shooting %. The reason is that Self had a good defensive game plan. I'll give him credit for that, but if we made ourselves more difficult to guard than we'd have a better shooting %. Its not bad luck time and time again when we don't shoot well enough to win. There's no question that the business of major college bball is a brutal business and Greg gets paid well to manage our program. Its time he starts to get us some results.

We did have open shots though... But they did do a good job not letting Staiger getting an open look. And they did know to sag off of Diante. So yes it was a great defensive game plan.
We were competitive the whole first half. It wasn't until the second half when Brackins and company came out slow that we buried ourselves. When we came back, Brackins got hot. We didn't have the other horses. We can't rely on Haluska, Petersen, Boozer, DG. We need more weapons. Thats what I will challenge Coach with.

Re: ISU VS KU Game
I think Brackins will stay if he knows that he will get the chance to play on a good team. I hate saying this, but this team sort of reminds me of 98-99, but not as bad. We have one stud (Fizer/Brackins) and a couple of good players, we are one or two players away, possibly Colvin and Gilstrap. Staiger and Garrett just aren't consistent players yet. They need to step it up. Also we have two guys starting just aren't Big 12 starters right now. Hamilton is one or two years away and Petersen is a bench guy who is starting because of lack of options. It will be interesting to see, but I like the build of next years potential team. We just need to get consistent. If Staiger or Garrett show up, we win the game. We need that player who can created his shot. We don't have that at the 1,2, or 3 position yet.

Re: ISU VS KU Game
Instead of discussing ad nauseum why we suck....I'd rather go enjoy my Saturday. Right now, I'm not real upset with the loss, probably because watching this staff's teams over the past few years has eroded away at my expectations to the point where I can't emotionally wrapped up in the games because I know I will be let down in the end. Whatever the reason for all of these bad losses...I just hope the staff can get it figured out, because its depressing to watch and even more depressing to discuss the reasons why we suck. Have a great weekend everybody!

Re: ISU VS KU Game
Pn top the next game/ Can anyone be athletic enough to shoot with a hand in their face besides CB? I look to SH to play better soon, AT has not progresses. I want to see a couple of dunks.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
