Give McD a break...

We need to give McD a break, look at the amount of players we have lost since he took over as head coach, this is his 3rd year, since taking over in 2006 he as lost,
Degand (granted these were not his recruit)
Marsden (granted these were not his recruit)
Taggert (granted these were not his recruit)
Dunson
c.Johnson
W.Johnson
C.McIntosh
Brister
Vette
It is hard enough to put together a competative team in the Big 12 but with this many players leaving prematurely, it is amazing. Next year will be a lot different, with the young team we have returning(hopefully this includes Brackins) and Colvin and Gilstrap coming in. I think McD gets a pass for the first two years, I will see what he can do with the rest of this season, and next year will be huge IMO.......

I'm sorry, but was this thread necessary? We've seen this stuff about a billion times, and, no offense, but it's not going to convince anyone either for or against GMac.

It'd be one thing if people actually needed the reminder, but like I said..

Was Greg given a difficult situation? Yes.

Is he blameless in the defections and losing? Certainly not.

you have a good point but this has been rehashed on this site about a million times this week. i agree with you but lets take this in a different direction. how about, really good game plan today. i loved the double team on griffin. unfortunatley he went to town on vanderbeken when we had to start guarding him farther out.

Sorry for having an opinion, in the post game thread I was reading people ripping on his coaching and how we have not won a big game under McD....

i don't think it's fair to say we haven't upset a great team yet. we did beat purdue last year on a neutral site which was a good win against a solid team. agree that we haven't won any big games yet, but with the talent we have i wouldn't necessarily expect us to.

No, just think that even with that fact, he has hardly had a chance to fill a roster let alone good enough players to compete at the Big12 level.....

its been 3 years he has had plenty of chances to fill the roster.

I understand, there's just been a ton of posts about this stuff lately, is all. I dunno, I didn't see any immediate posts jumping all over GMac after this one, so that's just where I'm coming from. Didn't dig much into the site, though.
