Veal Cutlet? Can you remind of the score of the KU game with under 5 minutes left?

I think everyone needs to go back and vote on that other thread:jimlad: This started to be about Morgan, who I never liked but kept my mouth shut, and his justified discharge. I only heard him speak about 4 times but I could never believe he acted or sounded like a coach. As a recruiter I think he is sorely missed.
This will be our 5th consecutive year we've gotten worse. It's no wonder people are getting frustrated. Yes, I am also a Cubs fan.
Honestly, at this point I'd rather watch WBB but it's rarely televised.
How close do I have to look? We only have one freshman out of a huge class making any impact, and we're one of the worst teams in the Big 12 and one of the worst Cyclone teams of the last 25 years. If his recruiting were better it would be having an impact on the court.
Because it takes talent to start with a top-25 team and one of the best backcourts in the country and not even make the NIT.
Stinson's hand affected his ballhandling a little bit....otherwise it didn't change his game much...he was the same player at the beginning of his sophomore year that he was at the end of his junior year.
I was one that was tired of WM and was glad to see him go when he was canned. I really though GMac was a great fit for our team and, at the time, was glad JP pulled him in before EIU could get to him.
Unfortunately, WM's two post season trips in three seasons are looking like a fairy tale now compared to the three not-even-close-to-the-post-season years we've had/are having under three years of GMac.
I hope GMac turns it around but I've been saying that since he arrived in Ames...
I said at the time that he wouldn't last 3-4 yrs because when you are a interum coach that is replacing a popular coach it almost always never works out, especially when you add to the mix a new A.D. and the circus atmosphere surrounding Larry's leaving.
WM wasn't a great coach, but he did not get fired for his teams play on the court. He was fired because he didn't run a basketball program that JP felt represented ISU to the standards desired outside the lines- from a coaching staff & student athlete.
GMAC has struggled & I'm a BIG GMAC fan since he is from eastern Iowa like myself. I also think that GMAC recruits kids that ISU can be proud of as student athletes.
That said GMAC has made a lot of mistakes in the recruitng process. He has been snake bitten by kids like Dunson & W. Johnson transferring. Sure it seems like all programs lose kids, but ISU could not afford that after all the turnover when WM left and most of the haphazzard recruiting class that GMAC put together his first spring were all gone.
I think last years class was solid in Brackins, Garrett & Staiger, but one class can't build an NIT caliber team.
This years class could make or break GMAC and to be honest I'm concerned. I have seen posters call Buckley, Eikmeier & Mann busts. I think that is a bit harsh, but I think any knowledgeable hoops fan has to be concerned at how little those 3 have contributed during the Big 12 season. If I look back over the last 10 years, there haven't been many high quality players at ISU that only got a couple minutes/game as true freshman.
The key to last years class is for Hamilton to develop, Pomlee to be a solid Big 12 post player & either Buckley/Eikmeier being a sold bench player.
Morgan got fired cuz Taggart was skinny as a twig. Not enough big men. :jimlad:
You're right cyclonez7, but Taggart had lost weight from his 1-2 month illness early in the season, and the other bigs (Hubalek and Marsden) were first year players. But I can't believe Morgan was canned because he wasn't running a good program, like I said he raised the gpa from the LE years and he had one kid get in trouble (George) during his 3 years. I'd bet Morgan was canned because a certain booster or boosters didn't want him. JP was looking for any reason he could to get rid of him, and tried to use the scheduling thing as a catalyst (lame as it was). The program and us fans in particular are still paying the price.
