Ames vs Marshalltown

Barnes = 24 points
McDermott = 14 points?

Billy Donovan and Bill Self were both in attendance. I'm sure McDermott was too, but he was not sitting with these guys.
Sullivan was in Donovan's ear the whole game.

This was a close game until the 4th quarter, when Barnes took over the game.

Bill Self, Billy Donovan, Todd Lickliter and Greg McDermott were all in attendence at the Ames/ Mtown game in Marshalltown tonight. The roundhouse was packed to the rafters and all the coaches stayed afterwards to talk and sign autographs. It was cool seeing all the coaches together and greeting so many fans. Seeing the coaches in one place at a high school game in Iowa was a very cool experience!

Yes, Billy and Lick sat right next to each other and exchanged remarks throughout the game. Bill Self was closeby. At the end, Mac came over and it was a reunion of coaches.

Great game that had Marshaltown up 3 until Ames went on a 20 something to 0 run.... pretty sure the scoreboard was wrong when it said Barnes had 24... I thought he had 25 but i guess i could be mistaken

Sullivan was all over Self the first half and Donovan the second. He is enjoying this more than anyone.

I hope Sullivan is saying ISU has this kid all wraped up and you might as well get on that plane back home!! I doubt that though. The more I hear about all these coaches stoping in to check Barnes out worries me a bit, but good for Barnes to catch the national eye. I will support him wherever he goes. When is the next home game for Ames high??

Sullivan is trying to sell this kid to a top program so that he can say he had a player go through his AAU team and go to Duke/UNC/Florida or whatever other school HB may end up if its not ISU

The one time we get a kid in our backyard and all these other coaches try to take the one kid from Iowa we have....aren't there enough kids other places? All that means is HB is special....very good.

My dad was at the game last night. He got there half way through the girls game and sat down. Then all the sudden Donovon, Self, Jake (and his kids?), and Licliter sat right behind him. In fact my dad even bought Self and Donovon a drink from the concession stands. He said that the coaches were awesome guys. Gave autographs all game long, posed for pictures, and talked to everyone. He said they talked more about basketball in general, about some X's and O's in the game in front of them, joked around about random stuff, and then finally talked about Barnes when he went off in the 4th quarter. He said Lick mostly hung out w/ Creekmur's (M'town jr. going to EIU) dad. All in all, he said it was a very entertaining night for him. In fact he woke me up at 11:00 last night to tell me about it.

WTF? I could be the richest man in the world and I wouldn't buy those 2 a beverage. Get it themselves on your way out the door is what i say. They are here to take HB. This is war. F them.
