I also think that the use of a private jet for recruits is a no-no. Coaches can utilize them, but recruits have to fly on commercial flights. So I don't buy the private jet part of the story.

It is the only thing that makes sense and helps to explain why some people ride the bench for no apparent reason.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Plus, if it's a surprise to Coach K (and don't kid yourself, he's there to see Roy too), he wouldn't use the university's jet because I'm pretty sure Coach K would find out.

So I don't buy the private jet part of the story. I'm having trouble with the whole story. Ames High had a game last night, and has another big one tomorrow. That means a pretty important practice today. Doubt that HB would be allowed to miss that...

Then that's odd, considering that he has announced several times that he would focus solely on his high school season and wait until it was over to start thinking about his college choices...

Re: Basketball recruiting update
Barnes not being at practice today could be the difference in Ames winning their next game by 35 rather than 40... -

Sorry, had to. The Waukee game is the only Ames High game I've been to, but if Doug McDermott is still coming off of the bench as 6th man...I'd be curious as to if his dad will be complaining to the head coach that his son should be starting, since Barnes missed a practice??? -

Re: Basketball recruiting update
I dont think they have to fly commercial on an official visit. I think I remember Chris Leak being flown in by Florida on their private jet. But HB isnt allowed to take official visits yet. Duke isnt dumb enough to do a blaytent violation like this.

Re: Basketball recruiting update
He's a junior, no official visits are allowed. If my recollection of NCAA rules is correct, any trips he takes this year are on his dime
