    Harrison Barnes at game today

The students need to get everyone going with a Harrison Barness chant to show him that he belongs at Iowa State.

Don't worry he's from Ames. He knows what Hilton can do. The question is can the team show him something he wants to be a part of.

If I see him at the game I'm going to try and slip him a twenty dollar bill and tell him that if he goes to ISU, there's plenty more where that came from. If that doesn't work, I may just steal his popcorn....what up.

Perhaps some sort of chant claiming how great ISU's business school is. (I don't know if it really is, but hopefully it's competitive with KU's?). All the stories I've heard about him claim the academics of the school are important to him as well.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

I'm sure our basketball team would love hearing a "GER-DIN, [clap, clap], GER-DIN, [clap, clap]" chant.

If academics is truly important to him, he won't go to KU. My brother in-law worked for ISU for several years and then went to KU and worked there for several years. He could care less about either University as a fan and he regularly comments about how much better of an academic University ISU is.

I don't know if stats, etc show this to be the case, but from someone who has first-hand experience at both schools, I'll take his word for it.

that's some interesting stuff... I recall looking at US News college rankings in recent years and seeing that in the top 50 pubs, ISU and KU were fairly close... In universities of the size of KU and ISU, it comes down to strengths in certain areas. I can attest to ISU's quality in engineering... I'm a geologist myself but I work with a lot of engineers myself, none of whom are from Iowa, but all of them have nothing but great things to say about ISU engineering graduates. Perhaps KU has a niche in academia? perhaps their "acting like snotty elitists" program is good? sure seems so.

If academics are really that important to him, he'll go to Duke. Nothing against ISU or KU's business schools, as they are fine public institutions, but they are garbage compared to Duke (and I'm an ISU biz alum). The career placement advantage ISU or KU would have in the midwest is meaningless because Barnes probably won't be looking for a corporate job after he graduates.

There are a lot of reasons for Harrison to go to ISU, but relative to Duke, academics isn't one of them.

He was right in front of me down 2 rows. Him and MiniMac (who isn't exactly mini) had a few good laughs during the game. Pretty emotionless the entire game. Got a little into it after JVB took his game to the rack.
