Is this MBB team too nice?

To only have 4 fouls with 4:00 left in the game tells me they didn't push/pull/fight enough tonight and that ISU didn't force anything all night. The team is working hard, but no real fight in them; they just take what they are given. The most telling moment to me was when Hamilton didn't foul with ~1:30 left on an easy MU layup. SHOW SOME EMOTION, KNOCK THEM DOWN AND GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT. I wonder if that wouldn't effect their shooting percentage a little. I almost got excited when Brackens got upset with the travelling call- it appeared like he really cared about the game.

Yet again, the other team was much more physical tonight and our youth showed. If Garret gets even with his defender on the way to the basket, go for it, don't pull it back out. To me, that was an exact example of the youth of our team.

Iowa State can look competitive for 30-35 minutes against anybody, but they just don't have the maturity/toughness/manliness to finish the job. Hopefully that will be fixed with age, but it is not coming soon enough to salvage this season.

The coach's softness is rubbing off on the players.

agreed he needs to show more emotion and fire the boys up

No killer instinct look at Mizzou pressing us still being up by 14 points now that is killer instinct wish our boys could be that way or be coached that way.

The biggest problem is Diante not forcing the issue when pressed. He has shown game after game after game that he is inept against a pressing team. Buckley played like 4 minutes tonight, and beat the press every possession he had. He made a move and forced his way down the floor. Someone needs to teach Diante what's going wrong.

It's hard to have that killer instinct with a 160lbs, child's body.

Clearly, DG is the biggest problem with this team. It's so obvious that if Buckley played 37 minutes against Mizzouri's press, the defenders would part like the sea before Moses because of his mad handle. :jimlad:

I think they are:
+ Poorly coached.
+ Lacking D1 Talent.
+ Inexperienced.

we are too cute and cuddly. Nice guys finish last.

You are way wrong in this statement. :jimlad: Buckley only played 3 minutes and I believe 90 seconds of it was Mizzou getting offensive rebound after offensive rebound. I would love to see him get more playing time. When our other players aren't getting it done, lets try something else.

We were definitely soft this game. We were tough against OU then flat the next two. I just don't understand this team.

Even Wayne Morgan got a few Technicals in his day.

Aggression is something only a few players seem to have on this team with any regularity. Would definitely like to see more. Take it strong to the basket! If you are going to foul on a lay-up, lay them out!

We recruited nice guys. All our bad attitude guys left the team. We are now a church team. We need to recruit a Kenny Pratt type.

Don't know about "Too Nice"............ "Too Crappy" maybe.
