With all these negative posts on McD

Makes me not even wanting to go to games or even support the team. I can see how a recruit prospect might stray away from Iowa State.
If I was a prospect and read all this stuff on here, it would tell me "Why should I go to Iowa State.".
McD is having a hard time convincing the players that better things will come.
If Brackins leaves next year there might be more to come. If we SUPPORT McD through these times we might be able to convince Brackins one more year. We need to be die hard fans through thick and thin. Let Pollard make the decision on who to keep or let go. The recruiting is getting better, and better. I does not happen over night or in three years.

Hmm, maybe CF could be turned into a fantastic recruiting tool that would give ISU an edge in recruiting over our Big XII competition. Forget about winning freaking basketball games to garner the attention of recruits. Just get rid of everyone who brings up valid points about the lack of progress in this program and turn this into a cheerleading website. Recruits would flock!

Seriously, this is kind of ridiculous.

Most people think it can like football. BUt lots of these players can leave after one or two years to the NBA. What does that mean? It means that McD has players that are NBA caliber. After two years he needs to fill that void. THAT PEOPLE IS HARD TO DO AT TIMES.

Except that players leaving the program and not going to the NBA is what is actually happening.

We need to support McD no matter what the circumstances. All you that want to fire McD think of who the next coach will be. Yes we can throw names out there, but would they want to coach here with this "IOWA HAWKEYE" mentality. Maybe thats who they all are? A bunch of Iowa fans disguised as Clone fans. Be glad that you have a coach like McD and not like Lichlighter. Licklighter was a OMG pick for Iowa and what has he done so far? McD is just a player away from breaking it wide open like he did at UNI.

You are throwing stones from a glass house. I hate the Hawkeyes as much as any other Cyclone fan, but we don't have any room to rag on Lickliter. Zero. What has McDermott done so far?

McD is the guy to get this done... Everyone remember when we hired him?? He said this was not a quick fix. He said that this was going to take time, but he was going to do it the right way. We all understood that then, did you just all forget? If he wouldnt have overachieved his first season here would we be in this position right now? Would it have all been better if he didnt give you a taste of what he can do in that first season?

Am I the only one who thinks that this speech of his was part of the reason only two players decided to stay after McDermott got hired?

And if that season was a "taste" or what he can do...which was then followed up with the last couple of years...I'm not so sure that I'm interested in the rest of the meal. Maybe that's just me.

I really like what you've done with the site. It has become extremely popular. It is by far the best message board I've been to and really addicting. I wish all the websites had the same features as yours--thanks!

However, I've noticed that it is your fault that the basketball team isn't winning and hasn't been able to keep or recruit impact players. Could you just shut down CycloneFanatic immediately? I mean, we'd never lose a game or lose out on a recruit if this site wasn't up and running.

Funny, Pitino is on Rome right now and said that last year he found out players were on their blackberry's in class and he took ALL of their electronics away for two weeks... No wonder he is such a great coach...
