Mizzou didn't have much more to work with

than ISU when Anderson and McDermott took over at the same time - at least from an outside perspective. Just sayin....

They didn't have to worry about LE drama. I am supporting McDermott regardless. If it takes 5 years to rebuild a program, so be it. I have always been a Cyclone, and always will be.

It's a valid point...but next guy is right about the LE drama...the Morgan drama...etc. But yes, it is frustrating to see other programs get going quicker.

Mizzou didn't have the transfer problem you guys did. Remember Missouri is probably the most experienced team in the conference.

If you want to compare, we did beat Mizzou at Mizzou during both coach's first year. After that the defections hit us harder so we are both where we would expect. People need to start thinking before making these threads. This is getting ridiculous.

The "LE drama" was well over when Greg took the job. He had a little Wayne garbage to deal with. But no more than Mizzou had remaining from Snyder.

Re: Mizzou didn't have much more to work with

    A. The LE fiasco was well over with when McD took over
    B. Mizzou had just as much issues with the Snyder debacle - considering they were on probation.
    D. Transfers were/are more of a problem at ISU than Mizzou - but they have had all kinds of Juco issues that have caused players to leave (i.e Stephon Hannah, William Butterfield - just to name 2)
    C. If you don't like McD threads - don't read them. I didn't start this to flame McD. I started it to illustrate that Anderson has been able to overcome similar issues as McD faster. Now, maybe McD's style takes more time to implement - that is fine. I am still a McD supporter, but am concerned when I see similar situations rectified reasonably quick while we continue to languish in the cellar of the Big XII.

Re: Mizzou didn't have much more to work with

You want to know the biggest difference between Missouri and ISU right now? Demarre Carroll is Mike Andersona's nephew, and had used his redshirt in transfering to get to Missouri. Wesley Johnson was not Greg McDermott's nephew, and had a transfer available. Not the only difference, but the biggest one reflected in the W-L column this year.

As long as everyone returns, I think ISU next year will look a lot like Mizzou this year. There always seems to be one conference team that surprises everyone. I also think Mizzou takes a big step back next year with the graduation of Carroll, Lyons and Lawrence.

i am concerned that nebraska is starting to play some decent ball with nobodies on their team. what are we in for when doc starts landing some recruits taller than 5'6"? this is one school that should never win another sporting event forever in my opinion...but now basketball is winning.

Hannah was a senior who played half the season before he was kicked off. Butterfield was a senior also. You can't compare that with Iowa State's transfers. Missouri has upperclassmen that are making a difference. Give it a couple of years and then compare it.

Exactly...Not as complicated as some are making it out to be.
