the season is not over yet
If Iowa State can beat Oklahoma State this Saturday, there is still hope for a good season. We cannot lose any more home games! Kansas State and Baylor will be two tough teams to beat but its possible. The two other must wins are Texas A&M and Texas Tech. If we win these 5 games, we will be sitting at 18-13, with a conference record of 7-9.
NOW LETS SAY WE BEAT NEBRASKA TOO. Then we are dead even at 8-8. NIT here we come :)
I know I drank way too much koolaid, oh well..

I have nightmares about what Baylor's guards are going to do to our guards...

Kind of makes you wish ISU could get those choke jobs against Hawaii, SDSU, and Drake back. 16-8 is ALOT better than 13-11. We could finish 5-11 in the conference and still be 19-12 overall, almost a sure NIT bid

The NIT has become even more selective and competitive since the NCAA took control.

I agree, a team almost has to win 20 or more now to make the NIT anymore.
Also remember that any regular season conference champion that doesn't win their tournament and doesn't make the NCAA tournament gets an automatic bid to the NIT.
UNI could be the perfect example this year. They will win the MVC but if they don't win the conference tournament they may still get into the NCAA but at worst are going to the NIT and taking away a bid from a BCS conference.

The only thing the NIT is selective about is, (like the BCS in most cases), what teams are going to bring in the most moola!!!!!! -
Re: the season is not over yet
When everyone points to the South Dakota State, Hawaii, and Colorado games as games we should've won (I agree we are more talented than all three of those schools), and says we should be 16-8, do they also take into account that we VERY easily could've lost to Cal-Davis, UNI, and Houston?
The close wins and losses USUALLY balance each other out, but not many people usually remember the close wins, when pointing at what our record should be.

But, generally you're right.
Let's get on a roll and we can stop ******** and moaning to each other.

Re: the season is not over yet
We may yet win out in the Big 12, and then win the Big 12 tournament. That would get us a decent seed in the NCAA tournament. Maybe a 6 or a 7 seed. Pretty easy to make a run at a national championship from there. Just need some guys to step up and start making some baskets. Cut down the turnovers, maybe practice breaking that full court press a bit more.
You heard it here first.
