Be prepared to give it time...because nobody has a clue. Standard practice is to inform all other coaches that the answer is no before it is announced. And don't count ISU out yet...

I like the post where the guy is making fun of another poster and then says some people shouldn't "bread". Classic.
Yup Kyle Singler, JJ Reddick, Grant Hill, Christian Laettner nobody remembers that they were/are great players for Duke, just another face in the crowd....
Edit: Barnes has the opportunity to be a star wherever he chooses to go.
And further, be a star at Duke = Immortalized
Be a star at Iowa State = Loved by a truly loyal fanbase but you won't get near the national attention as if he went elsewhere
How many times is Duke on national tv everyyear? Duke is a top 10 team every year. You get to learn under one of the best college coaches ever. You have a better chance of going pro. You get to play with other people of your own talent level which makes it eaiser to play....i see why
I call complete bs. He wont committ anywhere for at least a month or two. Just because he went to a game doesnt mean its a done deal. I talked to a couple of my friends today on his team and no one is putting too much stock into it yet. Yes he likes Duke but he is no where close to a committ
God, I hate Duke. I hate the over exposed Coach K. I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns. I can honestly say that if I was a prospect the idea of going to Duke would annoy me. Now, I might not go to the home town team, but if I was Barnes I would be much more interest in Kansas or North Carolina or Florida than I would be in Duke.
Frankly, I lose all interest in Barnes if he goes any where other than Iowa State. Obviously, losing all interest from me will keep him up at night. But I'm not going to go out of my way wishing him well or anything.
But if he is that close to committing and not really waiting until the summer, than I wish he would just get it over with already.
And it's kind of embarassing that Duke can get a cheer going for him (and frankly they have so many good players that Harrison isn't going to make or break them), but our students (and other fans) can only manage one wimpy cheer this year. He's been at a lot of games over the last few years and we act like we don't care.
Sometimes I question that too. Does the being on tv as much as Duke, NBA scouts in attendance more, more press have a bigger impact than if he were a big fish in a small pond (ISU) and be a legend?
Then I think, yes it does. He might be chasing a national title, and Duke's chances are better than ISU. He might also be chasing a tremendous education, and he'll get that at Duke as well. Maybe he won't get the pressure at Duke as he would as ISU of being the next savior.
There is a lot of possibles, but I could never blame a guy for going to a better program if he has that shot. Unless its LaFrentz...
he's not deciding til fall.
I understand the sentiment, but in reality it is limited thinking. As fans we always say things like this but in all honesty if you are really good you are never just a face in the crowd. On the outside chance you are just "ok" there is no saying you'd be any better off at "insert your favorite university here".
Fans are fickle and every environment and fabric in time is different. I don’t mention to be cute or even trite but just to say I understand but we never really know. If he bombs at Duke he likely wouldn't be booed or pooh-poohed, they‘d just roll the next guy in. At home..........well you know how things can be.

I'll cheer for him almost anywhere he goes (not KU or UofI).
However, if he goes to Duke or UNC, I'll cheer for him to get lots of points, but will hope he loses games--can't stand those teams.
I'd be content with HB going out east (obviously, if he rejects ISU). Much rather see that than have to play him 2-3 times a year if he goes to Kansas...
