Re: ISU @ OSU pregame thread
I'm going to go out on a limb and make safe prediction.
Brackins and Lucca will both have big games, now you just have to figure out which one is the safe prediction.:jimlad:
Fact is that OkSt is good at the three pointer, but is not good at three point defense. Fact is that OkSt loves the breakaway plays, but ISU leads the Big12 in fewest turnovers. Fact, OkSt is second in the Big12 in scoring offense, but they are also second from the last in scoring defense.
Fact, ISU's offense will have to be clicking like it did against Colorado for us to win.
Re: ISU @ OSU pregame thread
How about we have the whole team (not just CB and DG) attack the hoop.
Enough standing around waiting for CB/DG to drive/attack.
Hey Petey and Lucca, at least enter the lane and try to draw a foul or two or ten. You both are Way above average FT shooters, but you have only combined for about 2 FTs in the last 10 games.
Just my 2 cents.
Now, Go beat them darn Cowboys!!!
Re: ISU @ OSU pregame thread
Fair assesment. I think the key for us today, has to be perimeter play. Lucca and whoever follows him off the bench weather it be Booze or Shawn has to play as well on the offensive side as they do defensive. We will give up some three's, but we have to make sure we can make some trey's ourselves.
Re: ISU @ OSU pregame thread
Does OSU still have that god-awful camera angle?

I was watching OSU play someone this year... might have been OU. The answer to this question is: yes.
Re: ISU @ OSU pregame thread
What we need...
...CB to get 25/12
...Boozer and JVB to take that next step
...DG getting to the hoop and FINISHING
...Staiger to have a big game again.

And these are all very possible.
1) CB could go off for any amount, it seems like.
2) Continually happening. They could keep it up.
3) DG can get to the hoop on anyone. He has been finishing well the last couple of weeks.
4) Lucca made a couple on Wednesday. Maybe the streak is about to end. When shooters end a big slump, they tend to go off. Maybe today's the day.
If all 4 of those were to happen, my living room would be a very exciting place!

ha ha, hell yeah! i'm feeling the win today. we finally got the win that we've been desperately needing and i think we're every bit as good as oklahoma state is. if lucca gets going, they're going to have a hard time slowing us down. the one thing that we had on wednesday that we haven't had lately is the solid three point shot. once that started going it was all over. our defense is good enough to beat anyone. we just have to get that offensive production.

Re: ISU @ OSU pregame thread
We can watch the Huskers take their Columbia beat-down along the way.
I've got UCLA-Arizona in reality, but I'm sure I'll flip back to 5 to see the pain.

Not to hijack the thread, but Arizona is an example of a program that has completely changed their style of play. Under the last years of Lute, they were a very soft, outside-shooting team. Now under their interim coach, they have become very physical, drive to the hoop, and go to the line. Not to mention much more intense on defense. Budinger added 15-20 pounds and is a beast. They intimidate teams.
It can be done...
Re: ISU @ OSU pregame thread
We should be getting NU @ MU next and then ISU @ OSU on ch.5
