Do Fans Not Pay Attention To Defense?!
I keep hearing people say how Buckley should have played more. I was just wondering if people didn't notice how poor his defense was while he was in the game? He played o lay defense
Not calling the kid out. He is a freshmen and will get better. Just wondering if most fans only pay attention to the offensive side of the ball. Offense wasn't our problem yesterday. Giving up 86 points was

The argument is that at least he has B12 talent. Might as well let him play and learn at this young age rather than give the minutes to Petey or Haluska.

Re: Do Fans Not Pay Attention To Defense?!
How do you get better? For me, I typically get better as I get additional experience. I think a lot of people have come to the conclusion that we're most likely not going to win that game anyway, so why not get someone who could develop into a pretty good player more experience. At some point, you've got to play for the future.

Thats exaclty why haluska has been taking all there minutes...He plays outstanding defense and doesnt do crap on offense

I actually was surprised to see him in the game so early

I'm just happy to see DB getting a few more minutes and heck McD even played DB and DG together which I have been begging to see. It only lasted a couple minutes, but I'd still like to see more of those two on the floor at the same time.

I like Boozer and Garret out there..They seem to work together really well and gel well..i wonder if their pretty good friends outside of basketball?

OSU scores in the 80s quite often, they just allow teams to score more points.

But let's get off the emotial roller coaster please. One game doesn't change who should be playing over another.

I wish we would of got petey as a freshmen..he would of been twice as good learning young from big 12 coaches..

It is usually offense but not yesterday. I don't really know why GMAC thought we could go man to man against them

Haluska does play better defense against slower guards, but against an athletic slasher like Eaton he just doesn't have the lateral speed to get in front of the guy. We're playing a zone for a reason. When the guards are driving you've got to try and slow them down and count on help underneath.

When you play OSU you have to be able to score points, if you cannot do that you will lose.

We have nobody that can guard him, that is why we should have stayed with the zone.
I don't know how people can be critical of Haluska for not being able to guard a quicker than **** PG. Haluska usually guards the 2 or 3 position. He shouldn't be asked to guard another teams PG, but we dont' have anyone else to guard a guy like Eaton.
It was hard for him to guard him too, b/c the refs were calling just about anything all game long
