CB isn't physical enough for the NBA right now. He has many, MANY good parts of his game that are NBA'esque. But he doesn't attack the rim as well as he will need to in the NBA. He has one more year at ISU and maybe two.
Of course there are other things that could push CB to the NBA... but his game won't be one of them.. this year.
I don't see anything to worry about in that article. The one thing that does stick ut is that CB is becoming a very good representative and leader of this team. He says all the right things at all the right times. Can't ask for much more than that. I also love how they tlk about Colvin and Gilstrap. Gets me excited to see those 2 play.
Where did Dendy come from. Wasn't he a Major high school recruit a few years ago?
Could have been...not sure. Not as good as CB, but his game is similar, I tried to watch him play so I could give a better review of his game, but found out he was hurt.
With the exception of just a couple of players, most are better off going when they are thinking about it. Staying another year usually doesn't help their draft position. Right now he can be drafted on potential. If he stays and his numbers don't improve his stock will go down. It comes down to him. Is he the type that really enjoys college and would like to have one more year? Or does he want to go to the NBA as soon as possible?
100% right. If he goes this year he can still be a project with potential to develop... If he goes next year, just that one extra year will raise expectations and he will be expected to be ready to go... The ankle tweak is something to think about too... Sometimes even the smallest injury can help make a decision for you when you weigh the risk/reward...

Craig needs ten to twenty pounds more muscle. If Griffin goes, CB could be top Big 12 man next year and I would think we would be winning more games next year than this year. All signs seem to point to one more year in Ames. If he develops more power, he would get a bigger pay day in the NBA. He needs to play in NIT or NCAA to help him out.
Next year freshmen need to plug in right away to help himon the floor.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
If I am Craig Brackins, I struggle to see major benefits of remaining in Ames, IA.
If I'm CB, I'd be looking at the big picture, (which seems impossible for most on this site), and weigh the benefits of jumping to the NBA this year over next. Look how far his stock has risen just in this season. If he stays one more year and plays on a team that has more depth and experience and a much better chance of success in the conference and the NCAA tourney, his draft position could go thru the roof. Maybe a top five, for sure a top 10 pick.
The only way I think CB leaves after this year is if he is a sure-fire 1st rounder.
Many draft experts don't have have Brackins listed as a projected pick in 2009 but have him as a lottery pick in 2010.
HUGE, HUGE, HUGE dollar difference. That can't be understated. That is the reason why he'd stay. Millions at risk if staying another year moves him from 2nd round to 1st round... even if it means moving up a few slots in the same round.

here's the major difference. if he is a lottery pick he makes millions. If he is a late 1st round pick he makes hundreds of thousands. If he is a second rounder, he is guarenteed nothing. That is a big risk to be on the bubble of a 1st rounder and 2nd rounder.
If he stays next year and blows up even more like Fizer did his JR. year, he makes a BUTT load more money. If he is smart, he buys insurance on himself incase of injury and works on the game so that he is a lottery pick and set for life.
He can ask Stinson about leaving early and how he is enjoying life. Also ask Fizer how the NBA game is - that guy dominated basketball in college and now is in the Middle East playing. Lucky he got the 8 million guarenteed of being a lottery pick.
