I am not sure either way right now. It would be better for NCAA ball if they had to stay more than a year. I dislike the NBA intensely.

Re: Mickey D's All-Americans
Needs to be 2 years. I like the NFL policy of 3 years but the NBA will never do that. 1 and done makes no sense.

Re: Mickey D's All-Americans
Probably a stupid question, but how does McDonald's divide up the teams into East and West? There's a kid on the East that plays in Seattle and two on the West from Florida plus kids from North Carolina and Virginia!

Re: Mickey D's All-Americans
How do they decide East and West teams for this game? Looks to be a hodge-podge of locations on both teams. There's a guy on the East roster from Seattle, and a guy on the West roster from Tacoma. WTF? The West team also has 2 guys from FL, 1 from NC, and 1 from VA. I think someone at McDonald's need a geography lesson.
EDIT: dang, beaten to the punch yet again!

The #1 player in the nation, John Wall, is uncommitted but appears to have Baylor & Kansas high on his list.
Nice illustration of why it's tough for ISU to compete in the Big XII! Actually Jordan Hamilton is ineligible since he played varsity as an 8th grader, and you only get 4 years of varsity eligibility.

Re: Mickey D's All-Americans
It's actually better for the NBA. Not for college. The NBA get's fans because people want to follow the player since he went to there school. Kind of like Beasly. K-State fans will watch the NBA when he plays. Now if he comes right out of high school nobody would watch for beasly.

Re: Mickey D's All-Americans
it needs to be like baseball does it... players can choose to enter the draft after high school, but if they choose to go to college they have to be there until after their junior year

I liked the idea Bobby Knight had in that they can have the choice to go straight to the NBA or go to college for a minimum of 3 years. (Although, I think that may make playing overseas a more viable option for some)

I see your point, but top level talent in baseball doesn't do that if they go the college route... most of them end up at universities... why would you expect basketball players to be any different?

Hypothetical. Let's say, for instance, the Big 12 gets one or two McDonalds All-Americans, does that automatically make the conference better? Looks like Craig Brackins isn't helping the strength of the Big 12 since he wasn't a McDonalds All-American.
Just wanted to clarify if that's what you were meaning.

You would be suprised how many of the better baseball players DO go the JC route so they can be drafted every year and play every year.
