I don't believe he is the best player on that Rock Valley team. There is another 6'9" kid that is the star of the team. I think Dykstra is only a soph., so he has a lot of time to develop.
GO CYCLONES!!! He is a junior

Re: Staten
They did beat Heelan last week, but Heelan is 3A anyhow. I saw yesterday that West will get a council bluffs school in the second round, and then likely play East.

East/West would have Staten and one of our main recruits for '12 in Mike Gesell matched up against each other again.

I want to know from people who have seen him play, how good they think he will be, but thanks for the info CIMD

I wouldn't say there is 'no such thing', but I do agree that it's way too early to think he couldn't change his mind at some point.

I'm really, really excited about the fact he is ranked so high. But i cant help think about how he might be 17. It really bothers me for some reason. And I would expect someone who is 2 years older than the rest of his class to be ranked that high as he would be much more mature. This would be like HB listed as a freshmen . I hope its not true but all signs point to it being true. But with all that said i know he is still a great player and its a great pick up for us.

So what your saying is that Staten is really two years older than the average freshman? So really he should be a junior age wise? Wow...

I thought I read that somewhere too (that he was ranked 8th) but I can't find that info anywhere on ESPN.com. I don't think you have to be an insider to see it either. Can you provide a link? This one doesn't say his ranking or grade...
Not that I don't believe you (because I do, I swear he used to be ranked 7th!) I just can't find the link. Wesley Staten Rankings, Grade, News, Stats - College Basketball Recruiting 2012 - ESPN -
