For the record as well I think I would be a lot less critical if I didn't go to games. I get a lot more emotionally involved when I'm at the game, because I get into the cheering and then you also have the walk of shame across the parking lot when you lose.
When I just watch on TV I just switch the channel right after the game or go do something else and I spend a lot less time thinking about it.

When I just watch on TV I just switch the channel right after the game or go do something else and I spend a lot less time thinking about it. There is some real merit to this. Nothing against watching at home, because I've done that for years (like 20+), but when you go, you do tend to be more emotionally involved with the crowd experience, the financial commitment to purchasing tickets, and the aforementioned walk of shame to the car.
Thankfully, there's only been one game (UNI last year) where the other teams fans were there to heckle along the walk of shame. That was really nasty.

I like facts (not hater), reality (not hater) and a rational debate (not hater).
I don't like wanting to fire a coach at the first sign of trouble (hater), degrading players (hater), homers and the eternal "wait 'til next year" fans. Great post. Agree with your comments. I only make it to a couple games a year since graduation about 11 years ago. However, I normally buy the sports packages and try to watch or DVR every game that's available. Location just makes it too difficult.

At least I'm pretty sure this is the case...between Clone Zone and ESPN FC, I think I've seen nearly everything this year.
I'm a junkie...we could go 0-25 and I'd watch every minute. I'm not saying that makes me a better fan, it's just who I am.
It's pathological, I know. This is me - five years ago. My obsession has changed due to a combination of: family commitments, market availability, two & half hours to Ames, diminishing product, and personal projects.
I've watched the least amount of college BB this year, since before the time of Johnny Ore.
You will not see my name in any of the threads bashing Mc D. I wish him the best, he's the coach. I have stopped reading the post-game threads due to all the negativity.

I'm not going to the game tommorrow so I bet we pull it out.
i'm with you here. i'm on an 11-game losing streak in football and a 3 game losing streak in hoops this yr (KU, OU, MU).
can't make it to many games because of work, family, and living 2hrs away. if i could, i'd be there every game, for any sport. as a student from 89-93, I didn't miss a home game and went to many road games. i'm as big a fan as anyone here. i find a way to watch, listen to every football and basketball game. do i like the way things are going this yr in Hilton....hell no, but whether i'm there in-person or minimizing the lives stats while at work, i'm supporting my team.
