Re: Win question
It's not a breakthrough win by any means, but its better than a loss. This Baylor team reminds me of Wayne's last year. A team full of talent, that played in the tourney the year before, and has completely choked...
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

Neither UNI nor Nebby are getting in the tourney unless they win their conference tourney.
ASU is ranked #14 and clearly in the tourney, and Providence just beat the #1 team, and is on the bubble.

Re: Win question
Oregon State has turned a better win than when we first thought too.
I'll take a Jack & Hilton -
Re: Win question
I am quite happy with this win, I never thought we could beat Baylor, let alone convincingly.
With the combination of talent and the many experienced players Baylor has, the season they are having is ridiculous. They really should be near the top of the conference. Drew is definitenly not doing a good job of coaching this year. Gmac ate him for lunch.

I was being sarcastic...

This is a nice win, but not one of those you hang your hat on as the OP was asking. Baylor has a firm losing conference record. They're not a good team. We could end up finishing ahead of them in the conference standings.
Certainly surprised we won and dominated the game, but that does not make a great win.

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

Certainly surprised we won and dominated the game, but that does not make a great win. Baylor mostly plays down to their competition, but occasionally they get hot hoisting up their contested 3's...and occasionally, they realize that with their great athleticism in the backcourt, it might be a good idea to attack the basket, and penetrate.
I agree that Baylor is not a good team...they should be a good team though...they have a ton of talent and a good mix of experience and youth...they are just FAR too undisciplined on offense and defense, and this falls on coaching.

Sorry. It's getting late.

Re: Win question
It was a good win, but it was ultimately a win over a team that has lost 8 of it's last 9 games, and is 9th in the Big 12. They were playing well earlier this year but they are tanking hard. They are experienced and they are talented but for some reason they suck right now.
Definitely great to see the guys win. They are only one spot ahead of us in the Big 12. We should expect to win that game on our home court.

That could describe us, and why I hate that we're so in love with the three's ourselves. Baylor pounded K-State at Manahattan and hit something like 13 three-pointers, and then goes 4-27 from behind the line last night.
They could ask the same question that I do after some of our bad losses: what happens if we had worked for better shots?

I completely agree. I was just feeling a little ornery there.
I really think we saw some things come together last night that we have thought were just on the horizon. A lot of young, young players really stepped up, played smart and disciplined basketball, and took it to the new Bad News Bears.
I really enjoyed seeing the inbounds plays, and scoring off of some. I've been dying for that weapon to be unveiled, and there it was last night.
