I've been looking into the substate matchups and i cant help but notice that a possible meeting between HB and Wes could be coming our way in the first round of state. Granted Ames has to beat Roosevelt and West has to beat east tomorrow, but if both teams win it will be very likely that they will meet in the first round. West will be 14-9 which will probably be the worst record in state giving them the worst seed and ames will obvisouly have the best record giving them the best seed. I just really hope Wes can pull off the upset on east again so we can see this sweet match up. Lets all hope....

Boo will guard Staten I would like to see that match-up.
Ayone going to watch Ames play tonight in Ankeny? Thought about it, but not sure I want to get there 2 hours early for a seat. Probably just wait for the State Tournament.
I have not seen Staten play but I can't imagine any freshman guard in the state having his way with Bubu. Bubu has very good athleticisim to go along with basketball intelligence. I know this is hypothetical but Bubu as a senior is a much better basketball player than HB as a freshman. I have to believe that is also true if you compare Bubu to Staten.

If by HB you mean Harrison I don’t agree. In some sports the difference between freshman and senior years is huge. In basketball that gap narrows significantly because of the AAU experience most good players get. When you compare an elite freshman to a pretty good senior I would go with the elite player.

I am talking about Harrison and in terms of confidence, production, and skill Bubu is a much better player now than HB was as a freshman. I realize it's not a fair comparison. I am not trying to put Staten down, I hope he is that good I am just being skeptical.
The different Bubu makes for Ames on defense is ridiculous. He's second in speed only to HB and also has very long arms for his height. Ames is defense was good without him. It's unbelievable with him.
