ISU-NU Post-game thread.

This isn't about the players. It is about Coach's pathetic style that he forces them to play. One guy shoot, 4 guys retreat to the defensive end, assuming we haven't turned the ball over first. Coach does not press or crash the offensive boards when we are behind. His style will not win at ISU. But, many of you will defend him, so enjoy. Bring on the Cubs!

Defense isn't our issue, and we'd get torched in a press. They'd go after Brackins hard to put him in foul trouble or they'd take easy buckets. One shoot four retreat? I'd say our bigs (when they aren't hanging outside) do a decent job of trying to get to the boards, they just aren't strong enough to muscle someone out of the way to get position.

I bet we can get Morgan back cheap...

He took all the cerdit when he was at UNI, and he took the big paycheck in Ames. You can't turn around now and blame the players - they are playing hard and trying. He can't have it.

All I want to know is why we still have Greg. He is our worst coach in the last two decades. He just doesn't have what it takes I believe. He is a nice guy and a good person I just don't feel that on the basketball court he give us what we need to win.

Too bad you aren't watching the games before posting. Watch some game film. The French never retreated as fast the the Cyclone offense after a shot goes up.

This is so true. We're down 15, and some guys are still playing way off their man. There's no intensity that says "we have to win this game."

Watching the games? I'd be willing to bet unless you are a HUGE donor I'm closer to the floor watching every game. Craig Brackins does what he can without being stupid, and Hamilton will get a few garbage boards each game. JVB tries to go to the boards, but gets shoved out of the way.

It looks to me the program he built at UNI is still doing well. Looks like he built that the right way. They are winning with Jrs and Srs that he recruited. Mac doesnt blame the players he puts a lot of blame on himself.

Glad to see we all agree, then, that this is Greg's fault. My original post was to support the players. BTW, UNI would be a sub .500 in the Big XII. This style won't cut it in the big time. You have to have a plan on both ends of the court. We are 1 dimensional on offense.

I can't agree more! I have been watching all season and I always say to myself "why is there no one under the basket trying to get offensive rebounds?" Every time once the shot goes up on offense, the whole team takes off down to the other end of the court. It is terrible!

I wouldnt either. Ive said it 100 times... we are more than 2 new players away. We are 3 quality Big 12 starters away.

I think we are also a basketball system away from winning also. We have not had a winning game system for five years.

Can it be much worse? 7-22? 6-24? I think Fred could do okay. Maybe Jeff also. We play at least 12 creampuffs in non conference. The current team is not even competitive on the road.

Weren't you just ripping on McD's coaching a minute ago, and then you bring this up?

The game collapsed when our guards could not get the ball five feet beyond the midline four times in a row.
