The only difference is he is playing 3 times more minutes and thus his numbers look better. Disagree with him making great strides though

Re: Buckley will start at PG next year
Ok maybe not purely from a numbers stand point, at least not consistently. But I would take him playing 30-35 min a game this year than last, wouldnt you agree? I would say his bball IQ has grown in the last year along with looking more comfortable out there. Yes the execution has been erradic at times and the numbers aren't remarkable but I would still say he's gotten better simply from the extra year

All he needed was a little more confidence. I hope he finishes the season strong.

Yes the execution has been erradic at times and the numbers aren't remarkable but I would still say he's gotten better simply from the extra year It all really depends on the DG that comes to play. I swear there are 3 DG's. The one that shows up in games like he did against Oklahoma this year and Purdue last year. The DG is that is just awful, like last night. And that one that is below average and really does nothing, like he has done for most of his short career.
I don't think there is any doubt that he has the talent to be a decent Big 12 PG, but he is lacking mentally so much right now, I worry about him going forward

Re: Buckley will start at PG next year
I definitely agree. Consistency is his biggest downfall right now. Some of that probably is mental, and some of that will come in the off season. He now has had a full season, and knows what will be expected of him night in and night out next year. I'm not trying to make excuses for him tho, but I don't think he is anywhere near his full potential. The only thing is, its mostly up to him on whether he reaches it or not.

Frankly, only an idiot would think that I was comparing Diante to Jordan. All I was saying was that after only two years of college, you can't say that a player will never learn to shoot--as "experts" did with Jordan. Dumb *****.

Again...where in the hell was Boozer last night? WE were blown out again in the second half......happens every freaking time. Where was he and why did Haluska get the minutes? Poor.

Wouldn't be surprised if that was why he spent some pine time. Good coaches tend to do that, for some strange reason. "Hey! I'm building something here!"

Re: Buckley will start at PG next year
I think Colvin is a tremendous talent but he will be a true freshman. The one thing that has been consistent about Mac's teams is that new players seem to struggle to learn what he wants from them. I think he will play but doubt if he will start.

I think DG has the potential. I think he has the mechanics for a good jump shot.
BUT, he needs to get over the mental block that he currently has. Him missing layups (2 in a row last night) is 110% mental.
I have noticed that DG shoots pretty well on that 12 foot bank shot. There is no doubt that he is comfortable with that shot and has shown he is pretty good at hitting it. Now he needs to get it in his head that he can hit a 3 from the top of the key AND make a layup in the paint. Once he does that he will be OK.

According to the stats I'm looking at, Jordan didn't attempt a three point shot his freshman or junior year. Regardless of what he shot as a sophomore (on 76 attempts), when he came out in the draft, that's what they were saying. One reason he didn't go number one overall. Which was my sole point.

As Bryce told you, MJ shot a solid percentage from the field in college.

I agree about the mid-range jumper being a great weapon for DG. I disagree about him shooting the three. I don't think he needs to to be a good PG. Hopefully, we have plenty of guys that can shoot the three. I'd be fine with DG limiting his game to layups (that he hopefully makes) and pull up jumpers off of drives.
Forever trying to find a cure for the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
