Would there be message board meltdown is Harrison Barnes does not go to Iowa State

two years ago I would would of bet $100 that he would of been Iowa State all the way but now I would bet $100 that he will go elsewhere in Kansas or Duke or North Carolina.........


Quite Frankly, it will be a major disappointment he is not in an ISU uniform in 2010-2011 season as Oklahoma got their home town favorite in Blake Griffin and I think Georgia Tech got a 5 star home town favorite............................

What a way to celebrate the 10 year anniversary (which is next year) of the best Iowa State team in history, with a Harrison Barnes commit to Iowa State...........

We have meltdowns here when MBB wins a game, so I'd have to say yes.

I think we'll have people complain even if he does commit.

If we let this kid get out of our back yard ill be very dissapointed

it would be a big meltdown if he went to the sqawks, but that won't happen. If he goes to Duke, we can just chalk it up to a star struck teenager.

There will be a big meltdown, and just as every other meltdown, what will be said will be predictable.

Some will make comments such as, "Goodbye, Greg." And others will use the big laughing smiley to say that only an idiot would think he was actually going to come here, and most people prepared themselves for this months prior. It's like clock work.

don't worry he is going to commit to iowa state (hopefuly)

For sure. 50% of the posters will wish him best of luck and concede that ISU's program is too crappy to attract such a talent. The other 50% will flip out and wonder how he could possibly get away. The ******* match between the two camps that ensues will cause a major meltdown.

I believe he's just what we need and he'll get far more notice if he commits to the Clones and helps put the program back where it was and can stay. If he leaves the program he's been so close to, the school his mom works for, and fans that are as good as any in the nation...:no: on him. May he share minutes with 10 other players just as good as or better than him for four years and fade into oblivion.

Who gives a crap where he goes. When you start getting on your knees and pleading and begging a local talent to stay local you have already lost what little integrity you have. ISU's future DOES NOT depend on whether a local talent stays loyal to the cause. If he goes elsewhere good riddence, then we will concentrate on beating his ***!

By ALL of you "chasing" this ghost and waiting for the "bluebird" to sing is shameful on your part. Have some guts. Get some pride. A HS Junior who hasn't beaten Linn Mar yet still has a lot to prove. The more to grovel at his feet the more he will string you out like a Gigolo!

Tim Floyd would have Barnes already committed to Iowa State if he was still coaching here, IMO.

I would agree with you...but if Floyd was our coach, we wouldn't be 3-12 in the conference!

People need to be patient and wait HB out. He is a top 5 talent and top 5 talents usually have a very drawn out recruiting process. He will probably trim his list after the hs season, but i really dont expect him to commit anywhere untill at the earliest the fall signing period.

I don't think there should be a meltdown. I have already come to the conclusion that he will not be coming here. And I have moved on.

Barnes has become a very hot comodity in the last 6 months. It would be great if he went to ISU, but when Kansas and Duke coming calling it would be pretty hard to not think about going elsewhere. It would help in the MBB team didn't stink this year.
