Expansion of NCAA tournament
Miller is talking about expanding the # of teams to 128. It's been discussed elsewhere as well. I'll be done with CBB if they do that. The regular season will become completely uninteresting. I have a hard enoguh time getting into "big "games as it is because I know they mean very little since the tournament is all that matters. Rewarding crappy teams disgusts me. Just like excessive number of bowls.

Essentially every team is in right now with conf tourneys anyway.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -

I would love it just for the simple reason that Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday in front of the TV is my favorite time of the year.

Re: Expansion of NCAA tournament
I think it's rubbish. Just as there is no need for however many bowl games there are now, it isn't necessary and would take away the fun and excitement of the tournament. You'd probably start to see teams towards the end of the season start to sit players and things since they wouldn't have to worry as much about a couple extra potential losses with so many invites.
Not to mention, the time it'd take to play everything would draw out far too long (i.e. NBA).
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -

I vote no. The bubble watch is one of my favorite times of the year...and watching excited teams holler and dejected teams complain.

Re: Expansion of NCAA tournament
64 more games? I really have a hard time believing they'll do that. Not that I'd be opposed to it.
If they do anything, it will probably be to continue to add these stupid "play-in games". Maybe even down to the 15 seed.

Watching mismatches is a couch potato's dream. There would be some really nice games but some real stinkers as well. The 1st round would be full of complete dogs. 1 vs. 32 seeds? Dear God.

Re: Expansion of NCAA tournament
I could see them do it on a huge greed binge, but I REALLY don't want to see it. In fact, the play in game is garbage. Why didn't they just eliminate one at large bid. It is a greed fest.

The current format has 32 first round games (ok, 33) spread across two days. How he heck will they do it when it comes to 64 games?
Not to mention the additional travel, hotels, food, etc for x2 teams...

I'm fully aware there is more than one total game added to the tournament...

Re: Expansion of NCAA tournament
I could see them adding more due to revenue potential - but I think they'd more likely add the extra teams/games with the lower seeds getting first round byes. - Afterall, you can't have Duke, UNC, etc having to play more games with the lesser folks A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.
