Time to hit the recruiting trail
Now that the season, our staff is going to start going all-out on the recruiting trail, looking for commits, and targeting new prospects. Though the staff can't go on the evaluation AAU trail, IIRC, they will be watching a ton of high school games.
Right now, we're in front for several prospects. Darnell Harris would probably commit if we offered, we're the leader for Chasson, and we're out front for Dendy and Ejim. Hopefully we can have a commit or two in April and May, and hopefully you-know-who will decide he wants to be a Cyclone when it's all said and done.
We're also working on a complete stud (Michael Shaw) and there's a good chance we'll at least get a visit from him, though Illinois is believed to be out front due to the Tracy Abrams commit.

Re: Time to hit the recruiting trail
They should stick around Ames and recruit for a while. There are a couple of players around there I would love to see in Cardinal and Gold for at least one more season.

Re: Time to hit the recruiting trail
What makes you think we're in the lead for Ejim?
I wish I knew more about Dendy and Harris. We need the one that is more of a scoring threat. Is Harris more of a PG?

Re: Time to hit the recruiting trail
Not that the whole season didn't show it, but after watching tonight's game it was painfully obvious how far behind we are in talent level. I hope we sign two more impact players this spring (for 2009), and I don't care where the ships come from. I can not take another year of pathetic basketball, where a certain team's guard (Okie State) finishes right EVERY time, but you never figure it out.

Read some of cyismydog's posts in other recruiting threads and these questions would be answered. Harris is more of a 3.

Re: Time to hit the recruiting trail
We need a slasher that attacks the hoop and the coaches now that. You need to get teams in foul trouble early to get into that bonus early in the game. Athletes and quickness and finishers with an attitude and I think it will come to Ames. You can only do so much with the players you have and that is it. Before I leave this thread; thank you seniors for sticking it out and giving it your all. Playing in the Big Twelve in an honor and hopefully you think that because it is. Good luck to all the seniors in the future to come for them take your degree and kick some major *** with it. I respect everything you have done with your time here at ISU do not ever forget us because you know we will never forget you.
