Hmmm thats how it started
Then people just plain and simple got used to it and it got to be a little bit less fun
It IS best when it's in a tight game - the whole idea behind the flag run when I started was to rally the crowd towards the end of the game...
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -
Re: Flag Run
THe flag run is kinda corny, but i like the enthusiasm. But there needs to be someone else that does it. This kid goes way too fast, doesnt look out for others or slow down for them. Have a little respect for others(no im not an old fart). At least the original slowed or stopped for people walking in the aisle.
PS. lose the socks socks with the shorts. they look hot on college girls, not boys.

True. I did see the new kid almost completely knock over some 75 year old dude. I guess its a kid running with a flag. Apparently exciting -
Re: Flag Run
During the Nebraska game, that clumsy clown running with the flag made some little girl cry because he bumped into her. He just kept going--didn't check on her or anything. He's just a tool.

Re: Flag Run
love it, how could anyone be against someone showing their pride in Iowa State?

Re: Flag Run
"Flag Guy 2" (not going to disclose his name) runs too fast. Instead of swirling the I-State flag for the first part he should start jogging immediately and not go so fast! He waves his flag in CA too and I've been hit twice.
It basically comes down to needing the 'right' guy to be Flag Guy and this tradition needs to be put to rest until we have someone who doesn't mess it up.

Re: Flag Run
Sounds like a great tradition. So far, I've heard about this d-bag running over senior citizens and small children. I'm sure this will catch on.

It IS best when it's in a tight game - the whole idea behind the flag run when I started was to rally the crowd towards the end of the game... I remember when you started it. It's just my opinion, but I think if reserved for those kind of moments, it maintains more of an integrity. When I see it happening when we're getting stomped, it seems like a little bit of attention whoring, you know? Not trying to be insulting at all, but it just really loses it's power, imo. When it happens every game, it doesn't really mean anything anymore. When its reserved for big leads or tight games, I think it's a stronger statement.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

But yes I know what you mean. Some people liked it being done every game, but it wasn't as much fun to do it that way because it did lose its significance

Re: Flag Run
I like it to chris!
and for the guy who thought it was a bad idea to stop in front of the other teams fans, F U!
That's AWESOME!!!!!! Other fans need to know that if they come into our house they better just shut their mouths and watch the game. It was the Missouri game when he did that, and I was just waiting for one of them to do or throw something. AWWW a brawl would have happened!! Chris and I would have been right there backin flag man up and so would have a lot of other students! Originally Posted by CyDude16 I like it. -
