This "discussion" is really getting quite silly.

If we had beat those craptastic teams - fans would have one less thing to complain about. Expectations would have been set and laying an egg in the conference season would have deservedly received criticism, just as it currently is.

Trying to compare the levels of suckage in ISU MBB is gettin' kinda old.

I'd damn well take a winning season right now.

Which is what would have been silly. Those teams have nothing on most of the Big 12 teams, so that criticism would have come from an unreasonably unfounded optimism. (I wish uptimism was a word, so I could alliterate there)

We're you around after games? We BLASTED Colorado, which should be expected, won against A&M, Nebraska, etc. and people were ******** that Buckley wasn't getting enough minutes or Boozer wasn't getting enough minutes. People will come after games and find something to ***** about. Not going to name posters but some here I swear it's ingrained in their minds. Doesn't matter if we won or lost, there were still the same people finding ways to complain. I don't know if G-Mac kicked their dog and they have a vendetta against him, but it gets old.

Unfortunately, a lot of this board works like society. If things are going great, it's because the players are doing great. As soon as things go to hell, it's the coach's fault. How is that possible? The players were great sometimes, they sucked a lot of the time, but give credit where credit is due. Sometimes coaching was great, sometimes players were great, sometimes they sucked, but we won games when both were great, and people will whine that "Well, without Brackins we don't win." What the hell happened to enjoying a win?

I would be all over McD right now if we were 20-12, because my HOPE before the season was that we would make the NIT.

This season exactly met my expectations if you go back to the preseason prediction I made. However that expectation sucked. I'm sorry if I'm not happy about that.

Actually I bet most of them just wouldn't be posting anymore because their ego would be punished at that time. Regardless that's all McD has had to do, win, to silence the haters. Hopefully that starts next year.

ISU MBB is in a state of disarray and there is not a ton of data pointing to it getting better in the near (or long-term) future.

That is very concerning.

God I hope he proves me wrong, I've been hoping that since we hired him. I guarantee I won't say I was behind Mac, I will congratulate him on a job well done and continue to cheer for the Cyclones with pride and passion like I always have.

I respectfully disagree and can definitely see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Well said. One good year with a team consisting of Brackins and Gilstrap will be fun. But the year after when both are gone, we have absolutely NOTHING.

In no way am I suggesting that you shouldn't be disappointed. I respect your posts a great deal, and therefore you, since you make them.

You're not on the list of people I'm thinking of here. I'm arguing that there are some posters who will complain no matter what, because they're complainers at heart. I think we agreed here, at least to a point.

Thanks for the dumb part, though. That's still nicer than most people I work with, so it works for me.
