Tim Floyd back in the Dance

I just watched USC punch their ticket to the dance. I am still impressed by the way Floyd coaches. He does such a good job of forcing teams to do things they don't want to do. He can just flat out control the game.

I don't mean to knock the current staff when I say this, but I sure wish he was still at ISU.

He's a great College coach. Met the guy, liked him, loved his sense of humor.

However, always wondered just a bit about some of his players. Did Kenny Pratt really attend and pass courses at ISU?

Kenny Pratt! I'd almost forgot about him. Can someone track down the story about him running out of the arena, still in his uniform, when the cops came looking for him? (post college, of course).

Kenny never graduated but he did attend class. Floyd used to have his managers check every player, every class, every day...to make sure they were there.

This current team could use a Kenny Pratt. Someone who's willing to get nasty down low and mix it up. Our team is too nice. I miss the days of Stinson, Homan, Vroman, etc getting into the occasional minor altercation.

Tim Floyd was the best Mens B.B. coach we ever had. IMHO.

Tim Floyd looks the exact same now as he did in 1996. It's borderline amazing.

Re: Tim Floyd back in the Dance

Tim Floyd was an awesome coach and a cool guy. I had a chance to work with him on a couple things and he was down to earth and just a fun guy to be around.

When he coached in the Big Eight he was the best coach in the league. I would still probably pick him over anyone in the country but of course I am biased.

I'm not sure all of Pratts were minor. If he wasnt a BB player he would have been in a world of hurt with the law why in Ames, IMO.

Agree. Best game coach. Best recruiter. No ISU BB coach comes close.

Floyd has a brilliant basketball mind. It's rare when you can watch a coach change a game from the bench. He can do it.
