Selection Sunday
I love Selection Sunday! I miss the memories and the nervous feeling all day, wondering where ISU is going...
Does anyone have a bubble team that they either want to see make the tournament or a bubble team they want to see get popped? I can't stand Creighton and their fans (i.e. nebraska fans) so I'm hoping Mississippi State beats Tennessee today to steal one more at-large birth.
I'm also hoping Arizona makes the field. I just have a hunch the Pac 10 was better than people think this season.

Re: Selection Sunday
I don't care who makes it as long as Penn State doesn't. They didn't play anyone in their non conference schedule.

My team is also Arizona - I don't know if their chances are too good anymore...

Re: Selection Sunday
Its been 4 years since we went to the Big Dance. A presidential term.
Sucks.

Re: Selection Sunday
At least we can say that we were the last team to win a game in the NCAA tourny, from the state of Iowa.

Re: Selection Sunday
I would love to see as many Big 10 snubs as possible and I agree 'Zona should get in. If you put Arizona against St. Marys, Creighton, or Penn State on a neutral floor I think Zona would win 7 or 8 times out of ten.
In other news, I really hope Duke loses too...

Re: Selection Sunday
I'd like to see Arizona get in as well. As someone previously mentioned I think the PAC-10 didn't get talked about very much this year, as usual, and will do some serious damage in the tourney. UCLA, Washington, Arizona St., Cal, and hopefully Arizona. All of these teams have chances of going deep.
Edit: That's what she said.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

Re: Selection Sunday
I am biased towards the "mid-majors" and will admit, therefore I would like to see Creighton in the field more than Arizona. Frankly, I am tired of Arizona. Ever since they blew that big lead to Illinois in 2005, they have been mediocre and haven't done a damn thing since. I think their road record is something like 2-9.

Re: Selection Sunday
Also, I realize I hope this in vain, but I realy don't want Memphis to get a 1 seed. Play a real schedule in a real league...then maybe they should think about making them a 1. They wont make it to the elite 8 in my bracket...

Re: Selection Sunday
Its not as great this year since almost all the conference championship games are over with already. It seems like they all ended today and a couple hours before the selection show. It kinda threw monkey wrenches into things last minute and made things exciting. Now they are just bichin and moanin at each other, going back and forth all day, and theyll do it afterwards as well.

Re: Selection Sunday
I can't wait. Is anybody elso going to KC for the tourney? I am pulling for some Iowa connections to play there. UNI at the 12, Wisconsin at the 7 (Bohannon), Providence, which is unikely(Keno), other than that I am just cheering on the underdogs.
What is the Cyclone bar in KC? Anybody want to go Thursday night and wear Cyclone gear anyways?

Re: Selection Sunday
I really can't get excited for selection Sunday anymore. It just sucks the life out of me when ISU has absolutely no chance of getting in.
I'm all in on selection Monday, though!

Re: Selection Sunday
The question that everyone needs to be asking themselves is who's playing the play-in game Tuesday night. What two schools did the NCAA pick to earn the right to play in the tournament that they've all ready earned their way into?
I'll say Radford and either Binghamton or Austin Peay. What a joke.
Also, I'd say that any chance Penn State had of getting in disappeared when USC won yesterday.

When you are a low-major team you dream of playing one of the big boys. To earn your way to the dance only to lose to another low-major just sucks.
