Need Some B'Ball Kool-Aid...
Someone please help me find the Kool-Aid because I'm really scared we will not be Dancing in the next two years without HB (don't worry, this is not a HB thread). Let me also say that I am a McDermott supporter, who believes he has been very unlucky. I want to be optimistic, but in this thread I am going to be realistic.

Next year we have a decent shot at making the Tournament, but I think we fall short. Reason being, our guard court. DG has improved but still has a long ways to go to be a star. Buckley showed a lot of promise but I'm not sure he is going to take that huge step forward that we need him to take. And Colvin is probably going to be the most athletic and talented guard we have next year, but he is still a freshmen. My point is, we do not have that dominant guard to carry us a long. Eik, Lucca and Booz are good players but they are role players.
I do believe Craig will be around and with Gilstrap in the lineup, we should definately be putting up a lot more points.

This is where it really sucks because I believe our guard court will be MUCH improved. Problem? We most likely lose our two leading scorers (Brackins and Gilstrap). Who will fill in those shoes? Dendy? Barnes? Maybe, but that's looking like a VERY long shot.
I don't think we have a big-man on our roster, or verbally committed who could even come close to filling in those shoes. That means GMac will have to hit up the Juco's very hard.
I'm not sure Greg can weather 5 seasons of no NCAA Tournament. Please tell me how he is going to get it done because I don't want to be looking for another coach so soon.

If Craig stays we have a fighting chance at an NCAA bid. That's all I got.

My koolade:
I will go back to ISU, get a 2nd degree, walk on with my 5'-6" 145 pound frame...put the team on my back, and win a championship.

You can't be a real fan if you don't predict massive improvement out of thin air! I mean, these guys said we'd be better w/out Wes Johnson, and they really nailed that one on the head. BAD FAN! Re: Need Some B'Ball Kool-Aid...
I obviously don't think that there is a replacement to Brackins and/or Gilstrap (depending on his play) that is currently on our roster. I do think, however, that Hamilton will be a much better player than what we have seen. Don't forget that the kid is a freshman. I am certainly not saying that he will be a stud, but I see some Jared Homan in the kid and maybe as a junior we will start to see it.

Players do get better and do develop. All isnt lost.

Also we have not seen LA Pomlee play yet either.

Re: Need Some B'Ball Kool-Aid...
If Eik bulks up this off-season i think he will surprise some people..he can get to the lane but he just wasn't durable enough this year because he was so small
"We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. I’m going to approach all 12 games this way: We’re going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, we’re going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I don’t know, and you’re right, I won’t put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12 -

Get LA on the court. Get Buck better. There is raw talent on this team it just had to be coached up.

Re: Need Some B'Ball Kool-Aid...
I honestly believe we have some good talent off the bench in Eik, Ham, Christopherson and Pomlee. The problem is, I don't see that being good enough to make the Tournament. I think we are going to have to find one or two more difference makers in the Juco rankings.
