Re: With Eik leaving, I would like to see ISU go after Marcus Jordan

Then I question McDermott's ability to recruit Big 12 recruits as why did ISU offer Jordan originally than if he is Mid Major at best....

What did McDermott see in MJ JR the 2nd that he could play Big 12 Basketball........

This all falls back in Jaime Pollard for hiring MAC if he was not capable to recruit Big 12 players

It's painfully clear Mac is over his head. I used to be one of his biggest fans.

I am tired of being an Iowan the most important aspect to getting a job. I hope PR doesn't fail at football but it wouldn't surprise me....

ISU HAS NOT offered Jordan, the offer listing elsewhere is incorrect.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Well he still fits the criteria: he isn't capable of performing at this level.

I bet he gets offered next week

I don't know about Jordan but I would like Darius Smith. From what I heard, he can play. But this sounds like that will not be a possibility (along with the idea of Jordan). Is there something about Smith that is keeping us at a distance?

If we get Jordan, Jamie could sit down Michael and tell him what he wants done with Hilton Coliseum...

Marcus Jordan was the MVP of the 4A State Tournament in Illinois. He played amazing and he did in the clutch too on the big stage much better than Colvin played...

And he wasn't playing against bad teams either; they took on 2 of the best teams in state. I haven't watched him play a whole lot, but I like kids who perform when the spotlight shines the brightest...

I grew up admiring Jordan, but I do not expect him to open his wallet to us. He is a human being just like the rest of us with god given gifts. I only want Marcus if he is going to help us and is the real deal if not NEXT PLEASE. I would save it for Ejim or Barnes. We WANT BARNES!!!!

Funny. I remember his dad being cut from his hs jv team, and look how he turned out. Some people just develop a little later than others, doesn't mean the future ability isn't there (sorry about the weird wording, but I hate the word "potential").

See you don't understand Jeremy and the other McDermott supporters.

    Here's how it goes:

    • If ISU wants a player, they are going to be All Big 12. They will remind us of some of the legends of ISU. Most likely they will remind us of the 2000 or 2001 team. They will be great.
    • If a player doesn't want to go to ISU, then they "aren't D1" ready. This player will go somewhere else and prove all of us wrong
    • If a player comes here and sucks, then it's the players fault. You see, the player's family puts a gun to McDermotts' head and forces him to offer a scholarship to that player, so if the player doesn't work out, it isn't the coaching staff's fault for offering the scholarship in the first place
    • It's a well known fact that it takes 4-5 years to get in the top 129 teams and play in some kind of a postseason tournament. Just ignore the successes of the rest of the BCS conference coaches as they are particularly lucky which leads me to the next bullet point
    • McDermott is cursed. We don't know where it comes from, but it probably comes from Jake Sullivan. You see, someone put a hex on him. What ends up happening is that everything is all good, working out perfect, then BAM! The curse kicks in! The player decides to either underperform on the court, or just leave the program in all. Someone buy McDermott a rabbit's foot. We should also throw some salt over his left shoulder... Perhaps we can take some ISU memoribila and make it explode. Either way, we need to break the curse because if we don't
    • It'll turn into the Cubs curse. You see, many ISU fans are Cubs fans, so of COURSE it makes sense we're cursed. I think the key is for the Cubs to win the WS, so that the ISU curse can be broken!

Sometimes we need to take a look in the mirror. Are we the unluckiest school in all of the BCS? Probably not. We're just putting our trust and faith in the wrong people.

    That's some good stuff.

You should go somewhere and blog about it.
