Cant believe Eik left
I know he would have been a big time contributor to the team. He had a lot of big shots left in him, too bad. Im sure he is going to Creighton? Would be nice if he went to UNI or Drake. Good luck to him.

If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find
them - maybe you can hire: The A-Team. -

Re: Cant belive Eik left
I really don't understand him. He left because he did not want to redshirt. Yet he will have to do exactly that (in effect) if he transfers to any Division 1 school.
ISU would have a better weight-training facility than just about any of the smaller schools I've seen mentioned as his ultimate destination. It would have been better for him to stay at ISU, take the redshirt year, get really strong, and have 3 more years to contribute at ISU.

I don't think we'll ever know the full story. It appears to me the staff was asking for paitence, but that didn't fly with Eik.
He sure looked great in highschool.. How many 170 pound point guards ever work out at this level?

Eik, like many other guys on the team, are not Big 12 players.

Maybe deep down inside he felt like he just may never be able to consistently be a major contributor at this level. Just like every kid who had a great high school career, he probably feels like he should be out there 30 minutes a night, but that isn't going to happen here.

Re: Cant belive Eik left
From the articles in the paper it sounded like he knew he was never going to be able to get strong enough to play in the big 12. Too bad, but D1 guards resemble outside Linebackers anymore, 6' 2", 225 pounds. The game has just gotten too phsyical for guys like Wes.

If players for the same position come in and play 09-10, he has to beat out players with lots of minutes and maybe even have to beat out a starter. IMO, he doesn't want to redshirt because it may be impossible for him to win a starting spot after others plays next year.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.
