The Newest Harrison Barnes Thread....

I've heard so many people on here saying that its a done deal that Barnes is going to Duke. Well, from what i've heard its a 50/50 chance that ISU still lands him and here's why i think we still have a very good chance..

As it stands, there are two things that will determine his ultimate location for his college career, because the possibility of winning a national title actually exists at any school - not just Duke.

Harrison is about education and family. Because of his lack of a relationship with his Dad (Ronnie Harris), his relationship with his mother is the most important thing in his life. This by itself may be enough to keep him at ISU. Because of his younger sister, and his mothers employment at ISU, it stands that she will probably not follow her son to whatever school he attends unless its in ames. Regarding the educational importance in his life, the high standing of the Business Department at ISU is another very enticing reason to stay at ISU, Dukes business school is not even in the top 100.

Harrison Barnes is not your typical high school basketball superstar. He lacks that arrogance about himself except when he laces up his shoelaces and gets on the floor. This kid is very grounded and understands the process and the pitfalls to making the wrong decision.

If his decision is to stay at ISU, imo he puts himself around the people that mean the most to him in his life. The future in Basketball will work itself out. His life, his happiness and his ability to maintain the things that mean the most to him all point at ISU not Duke. And in terms of Basketball - go to duke and be a member of a team of all stars, the newest 5* recruit will be treated like all the other 5* recruits - sit and learn the philosophy. At ISU you will be the focal point of the offense and your ability to mimic his idol LeBron James will be more realistic carrying a team and learning what it is to be the leader of a team, because he would be the undoubted star of ISU basketball from day one.

Barnes could be the face of ISU basketball, he would simply be another player at Duke!!!!!

My dentist just sent me a text. He heard from his chiro that Barnes is a 100% Iowa lock.

Enough with the "Harrison will be just another face" bull. Barnes will be a stud and well known throughout the country wherever he goes. Why is everyone so convinced McD AA's go to high profile schools and get lost in the shuffle?

Sure he wouldn't be forever known as the greatest player to lace em up for said school, but it's not like that would even be the case if he played here. It's impossible to get a consistent answer who that player is even now

Harrison will be a great player and make an impact on whatever program he plays for.

Oh, and I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in whatever undergraduate business program he chooses to spend a year or two in being that much of a factor, at all

I promise you I am not lying or making this up.... I am not saying he is going to Duke for sure all I am saying he is close to coach K....
