I think at the very least we beat Hawaii, SDSU, and Drake with a healthy WJ on this team. I also think we would have snuck at least one other win somewhere. That would have put us at 19-13, which I would have happily taken.

I know it's not an excuse for last season, because things happen to teams all the time, but I think it illustrates that we're not that far away from a decent record.

If we couldn't beat South Dakota State at home with a first round NBA draft pick on our team, I guarantee having Wesley Johnson wouldn't have made a difference.

So basically you are saying that teams nor players get better with an extra year of experience and playing together? So it shouldn't matter if a player is a freshman or a senior they should be the same every year. I bet the majority of people that know anything about ISU basketball would put us at or over 20 wins this past season had we had WJ and CB. The fact that you think because a season before when CB was a freshman and WJ was hurt means that we would not get better in the next season is ridiculous. It is amazing how Blake Griffin did not win player of the year last year or that Hansbourgho(sp) didn't win it all four years.

We still woudnt have had any role players aka bench players to come in and contribute. Our starting 5 besides brackins wouldnt be able to start on any other big 12 team in this league. Also if brackins leaves i can already hear the posts from you guys next year at this time saying "man if brackins would have stayed we would have made the ncca tourny" or "you know how good we would have been with brackins." Get you stuff together brackins is a huge part of the team but if he leaves coach mac had three years to recruit players that should be able to fill his shoes. But wait.... All his players that he recruited either arnt playing, transfered, or playing but just arnt big 12 type players. All of this is because these players arnt good and should be in either division 2 ball or the mac conference.

You are right. Wesley Johnson would not start for any other Big 12 team but yet he will start for Syracuse next year
