Re: Retire #21
Cannot retire the jersey unless he graduates, no matter who it is. This is a university not a NBA prep academy.

Right now, I would retire #13 before #21.

If it can help get recruits, whats the harm in throwing a banner up? Texas put up Durant's jersey this season, for what it's worth.
Also, does anyone know if ISU has set requirements for jersey retirement, such as First Team All-American? Or is it discretionary?

Talk about getting the cart ahead of the horse. Let's see CB stay for 4 years and get a degree and lead this team back to where it should be and then we'll get in this discussion.

Yea, then we'll be playing our games in Brackins Coliseum.

Let's not get too emotional about Brackins coming back. Take a deep breath thank you! spot on.

Re: Retire #21
All of you are on crack who think this.
ISU went 34-0 at home in the two years Tinsley was a PG. Fizer was such a good college basketball player and was on the cover of SI.
Some of you think Brackins is a God, but he's an inconsistent player, with potential, who happened to drop 42 points on National TV... There were plenty of games that he mentally checked out, where Tinsley or Fizer wouldn't have let us lose.....
Unless we're getting to the Elite Eight and Brackins can have a better year than last year, no way I'd retire his Jersey....

I don't think it matters whether they got an actual degree. I think it matters whether they leave for the pros while they still have eligibility...

There have been greater players than Craig Brackins at Iowa State??? -
Re: Retire #21
Right now you have to be an All American (not honorable mention) and graduate to get your jersey retired...

It's supposed to be a very exclusive group, not necessarily the best guy on the team. I don't even know if Brackins is the best player in the past decade for us...
