Re: Rumblings about Lucca
Lucca would be a big loss. Not a Brackins-sized loss. But, a pretty big loss. You just can't afford to lose 3rd year contributors. They are too valuable to building a program, and Greg can not afford to keep losing these types of players. Hopefully this is just talk and he'll be back...

You can't say it is alright to lose everyone except for those that are All-Conference players. We wouldn't have a team if that were the case. Maybe that isn't what you meant, but "somewhat unfortunate" is underplaying the situation.
God I hope this is just a rumor.

Because he obviously owes us something for not being an all world player.
Lucca has a role on this team and if he wasn't forced to play the 3, his numbers would have been better. He is a great spot up shooter but when no one on last years team presented any threat to drive and finish, he was constantly covered. I can see that changing this next season with guys like Gilstrap at the 3. It will free up the shooting guard for more open spot-up shots.
I for one would be sad to see him go and I appreciate the effort he has put in including hanging around during a suspension year. I hope he is here next season.
Lucca's Role on this is similar to Matt Lawerance's role on last years Mizzou team. Matt had an big impact on several games. Lucca can do the same. Do not underestimate the value of role players and sharp shooters on a team.

All of that surprises me, because in Europe they focus on fundamentals so much. He's a role player that many on this board hyped up because he had to sit out a year.
We could use him if he's coming off the bench. If he expects to be a starter the next 2 years, then I could see why he'd want to leave. You obviously don't know what you are talking about.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
I think Lucca could be a starter if healthy, he is a great shooter, yes his defense needs some work but I think it will come with time. He is one of our best passers, and getting the ball inside to brackins. Please stay Lucca! Don't listen to the idiots who think they know basketball, and don't appreciate you here.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
If McDermott really wants to go up tempo like he says, Lucca might not be on board with that also.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
Anyone that has put up with what he has, just to play...even without the hype/let down, he's still a fan favorite (or at least one of my favorites). Hate to see him leave.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
Please, let's not jump on here criticizing him and acting like we don't want him here. Remember, a big part of the reason that Lucca stayed in the first place was the positive fan reaction. Now, when he might be leaving, based only on a rumor, some on here are going to suddenly say how he is not really a Big 12 player and attack his skills, when we all know that he probably played at something less than 100% physically last year? Are you serious? If he stays, how do you think he would like reading some of the negative comments on here? Some of you are truly unbelievable and I swear you do not think before you post some things.
Lucca, if you do read this site, please ignore the negative comments. I'm sure there are going to be many more comments on here supporting you. Personally, I hope you stay. I would really like to see what you can do when healthy, and with the upgrades in talent and athleticism expected in next year's team.
Just my two cents.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
I was hoping for him to become this team's Hurl Beechum, you need guys like that to win & go deep into the tourney.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
It always hurts to lose upper-classmen who were starters the year before. Lucca undoubtedly has a role to play on this team and I hope he sticks around.

First, I wouldn't say it is the end of the world, so we probably agree there. That being said, it's never good to lose a solid contributor.
Again, I hope this is just a rumor.
