All of that surprises me, because in Europe they focus on fundamentals so much. He's a role player that many on this board hyped up because he had to sit out a year.
We could use him if he's coming off the bench. If he expects to be a starter the next 2 years, then I could see why he'd want to leave. I tried to make a point to be positive to members, but this really annoyes me. I will try and make my point without saying what I think of your negative non-stop posting.
Lucca is a very valueable asset to the team with experience in the system and knows the current players. Experience is something ISU has lacked in the past few years.
Your post comes across as we don't need him when we do.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. -

Especially early last year, I thought Lucca made plays that were a little too 'fast' or good for the players and they turned into turnovers.
If Lucca leaves it is NOT good for the team.

Well, don't expect Iowa State to go too long without one or two kicks to the stones.

Lets start with canabalizing our "own"... Never amazes me how low some of you posters go. He is a CYCLONE. Let's not kill him. -
Re: Rumblings about Lucca
I agree it's possible Lucca never really felt confident with his knee as he seemed to shy away from driving and mixing it up inside. Wouldn't be the first time a knee injury derailed a career. I'd still miss him if he goes because he can be a streaky 3 point shooter that can score some quick points.

He can't pass?
Seriously, leave and don't come back.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
I would guess this past season was quite frustrating for Lucca. Whether it was coach's instruction, injury, or skills that hadn't developed yet, being limited/restricted to hanging out behind the 3-pt line and being expected to drain shots with a defender constantly stuck in your face is a tough existence in the Big 12. I could understand wanting to pass on having to go through that again...

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
Lucca is a great guy and a great player, he just needs to be healthy to get his confidence back. He has some size, he is trying incredibly hard to get better and he can certainly provide a lot of experience and leadership in the years ahead.
For those of you putting down a current player, you need to actually learn what these guys put themselves through for you and your team. To put down a player that is half way around the world from his home, putting forth everything he's got to get better and make his team better - is disgraceful.
You can be upset with a performance or a couple performances, but you should never publicly put down a current player on any Iowa State team. If you understood the sacrifices any player has to make - yet alone an international player - I would certainly hope you'd think about things differently. A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -
Re: Rumblings about Lucca
Having a sharpshooter in an uptempo offense is invaluable. If we have 4 extremely athletic guys out there who are getting up and down the court quickly, there is going to be boat-loads of opportunities for wide-open transition threes. Even if he's not as quick as some of the other athletes we are bringing in, his shooting is much needed. I really think his production will go up next year, as he will be healthy (presumably) and will get all kinds of open looks as we develop more scoring options.

Re: Rumblings about Lucca
Lucca is a valuable member of the ISU mens program. He has shown that when healthy he can shoot it as well as anybody in the league. This upcoming year is exciting to me as a fan of ISU basketball because of the continuity, unselfishness, and friendship this group of men seem to have for each other. I really feel they can take that big step toward doing something special. We need all the pieces of the puzzle and Lucca is a big piece in my opinion.
