Open Scholarship (s)
We will have one or two open scholarships, depending on whether or not Lucca stays or goes. That would give us these schollies for 2010:
JVB: Dykstra
Craig: Reserved for Barnes, pending decision
Gilstrap:Reserved for Ejim, pending decision
Boozer, Lucca.
If both of these are open, I think we'll try and get either Brandon Spearman, who has been playing phenomenally this summer (http://www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/bspearman.html), or Jordair Jett, who is under the radar because he played on a small AAU team and school team, but is going to Notre Dame Prep, and will get at on of recruiting attention after showcasing his game there.
With the other one I think we'll look at a 4 or a 5, which one, I'm not sure though. Some possibilities include Philip Jackson, Dakota Euton, and a host of others.

A couple questions:
1. I've seen many people automatically put Ejim in our corner...are we really in that good of a position with him?
2. I think Chasson Randle is a 2011 recruit.....anybody have an update on him?

2. We've got a very good chance at Chasson..he continues to improve his game. He shot 49% from three this year as a sophomore and was first team all state in Illinois.

I love some things that if my child was named after them I'd be in jail. Just sayin'. At least one Bond girl's name comes to mind.

I like how Jett is flying under the radar. So he must be a stealth recruit. I have many more.

Seeing some of the school that are interested in Ejim, he must be a pretty smart kid?

Re: Open Scholarship (s)
Is Doug McDermott going to be a walk-on, or will we actually offer him a scholarship or just let him go somewhere else? He is a pretty decent player and if we have to use a scholarship on him that would make me mad since Greg is making the big bucks that he should just let him walk on and he can pay his way for college.

Thanks for the info Cyismydog.
Apparently Randle is nowhere near as good as Oliver, since Oliver shot 60% from the three....maybe we should stop recruiting him! -

Doug has a few D1 offers (4-6) in his pocket as we speak, one being in my backyard (UND). I think Greg would love to have him walk-on at ISU, but that would be up to Doug. I can certainly say that if ISU did not have this strectch of bad luck the last 3 years, it would be easier for both of them Greg and Doug. Has a parent, I'm not sure I would want to put my son in the pressure cooker right now along side of me. Doug needs to get stronger, but like his Dad he will mature a little later than most, and I think be a really Good D1 player his last couple of years.
