FLASH - Harrison Barnes Narrows His List

Andy Garman had a breaking story on Channel 8 last night at both 6 and 10 that Harrison Barnes has narrowed his list of potential schools down to 12. He also reported that Iowa isn't on that list.

Oh, wait. Anyone who has been following the HB story knew that weeks ago. I guess maybe it wasn't a breaking story after all. Sorry.

Sorry, guys. I just found it interesting that Garman had the story on last night as though it was something new. For crying out loud, was Iowa ever on his list? And how many weeks ago did the recruiting services report who the 12 schools HB reportedly was interested in were? Garman acted as though this was a big, breaking story.

Don't quote me on it, but I think at 6 it was his "teaser" going into the commercials before the sportscast and then was his lead story when he came on. I felt kind of like you guys did when you saw the title of this thread. My thought was, 'I wonder which teams he has eliminated from his list.' Then he comes on and tells me something I already knew (weeks ago, in fact).

HB will not go to ISU. He may visit Ames from time to time when he has breaks from Duke though.

Now that I think about it, I've been pretty hard on Garman over this whole deal. At least he gets his news from Cyclone Nation as opposed to getting it from his dentist!!!

Remember, most people do not follow recruiting as hard as people on this list and in fact there are people that have not heard of Harrison Barnes. He reached a wider audience that gets it's news as it happens upon it. They don't search it out.

Thought HB was having a love affair with Tubby Smith UM staff. Guess snow is not a problem after all. He may still come here. You never know. He could become more popular than the mayor.
