mac better start shipping hundy dolla bills to HB :)
If Harrison commits to Iowa State he will drop 2 stars...
Were there other situations where a highly-touted recruit went to a not as prestigious school in their backyard instead of the national powerhouses that be who were recruiting them?...come on people, give it time and hope he stays here in Ames.
No disagreement there.
It will also help A TON with recruiting if we landed Barnes. Trust me, every kid playing AAU ball knows who he is and would like to play with him. That could be a HUGE recruiting tool at the end of the 2010 class and for the 2011 class.
I think most Cyclone fans can deal with him going to Duke, UNC or maybe even Florida. But if he chooses kansas, I doubt he would receive a warm welcome when he comes to Hilton.
I don't see how anyone can know where he is going at this point. Yes he has said he wants to contend for a National Championship and go to a good business school. I don't think either of these two qualify or disqualify ISU.
I really enjoyed watching Ames play last year and will go every chance I have this upcoming year. Once he makes his decision I will cheer for him no matter where he goes (except the two times a year he plays ISU if he heads to KU). He is a class act kid and I hope for nothing but the best for him.
I don't think I can help convince HB that ISU is the place for him. That is the coaching staff's job. However, I feel I could easily detract HB as a single fan.
Maybe he will be just loike Mike Jordan at 6-7, 205 and a slasher.
IMO, I think that's absoulatley crazy logic: 1 fan can keep someone from not committing to a school, but 1 fan cannot make a player commit to the school.
Maybe it's a different world, but I know quite a bit about Kris Humpries' recruiting, and how he went from committing to Duke to the U of M. I can tell you 100% in that case he didn't care what a message-board poster said.
Have you ever been invovled with a highly touted athlete making a decision? Not saying I'm an expert, but I did get to see some behind the scenes action on the recruiting-front.
I also had a closer friend go to a smaller D1 school, and his factors for his decision had nothing to do with message-boards either.
I think blaming other posters for something going a different way than you want is a cop-out.
