Barnes Up to #2 on Rivals

Just missed out on the top spot, which was given to Brandon Knight. Still really impressive what this kid has been able to do.

FYI these are the top 3 players in each class since 2002 according to Rivals

2003: Lebron James, Luol Deng, Shannon Brown (all in NBA)
2004: Dwight Howard, Shaun Livingston, Josh Smith (all in NBA)
2005: Gerald Green, Josh McRoberts, Monta Ellis (not as impressive, but all in NBA)
2006: Greg Oden, Kevin Durant, Brandon Wright (all in NBA)
2007: Michael Beasley, Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose (all in NBA)
2008: BJ Mullens, Jrue Holiday, Demar Derozan (all soon to be in NBA)

but he will just be another player at duke or north carolina. probably won't even start for them.

I honestly think if Meyer see's him this year, he'll be ranked in the 90-100 range, his biggest problem is he's not really strong, but with his passing, shooting, and post-up ability, he can be very good.

Apparently you didn't get the memo: If you don't think HB is coming to ISU, then you are a fan of (insert school he commits to here) and are sabotaging this board! We get to blame you also, because you had an influence on his decision!

Only Iowa State fans can post negative crap on a message board regarding what could possibly be the biggest recruit we have ever gotten.

Seriously go to the other 11 schools that are recruiting him and see if they have people posting this:

"I am tired of seeing all the Harrison Barnes threads"

"Let's move on to X recruit. Barnes is stringing us along to much"

"Why are we even talking about him? He is going to X to play ball anyway! We are just going to be let down in the end"

Alright good, because it's coming... To not be sarcastic now, those are all things people told me, when I pointed out why some of the other options may be attractive.

I'll be in the same boat as you lol.

On the flip side, I'm sure if he does committ to ISU, there'll be a bunch of people on this site patting themselves on the back lol.

I get what you're saying. I actually do not mind talking about him at all.

I just think ISU fans have been conditioned to expect the worst, and it's going to be like that.

Honestly, if Coach K, Roy Williams, et al, walk into a high school gym, everyone is going to know who they are. If McDermott did it outside the state of Iowa, that wouldn't be the case at all.

McDermott's in a tough position and I just think that many of us see that.

At the same time, I know I want to see him come to ISU, and I like reading about him...
