Star Tribune article about recruit Dearring
The Star Tribune had a good article in the paper this morning about Riley Dearring. He is a 8th grade star for Hopkins up here. He currently has scholarship offers from Minnesota and Iowa State.
Unfortunately the article is only available in the paper edition, but they do have an interview with him posted on their website.
Seems like a good kid. Eighth-grade basketball star -

Right now it sounds like he and his dad have an excellent viewpoint. I sincerely hope it continues throughout all the forthcoming hype.

Re: Star Tribune article about recruit Dearring
Dearing is a beast...last year at the skills camp he was arguably as good as Jemal Farmer, a wing going to Arkansas next year. He was 6'5" at the time, but I think he may be taller now...he's going to be really, really good. (It doesn't hurt his dad is basically best friend's with Coach TJ)

McD would be wise to lock-up TJ. Seems like Robinson will be great as well.

At this point, I think TJ and DRob are happy with where they are at...Next coach to leave will be Rutt taking a head coaching job. I know he wants to be a head coach; he's just waiting on the right opportunity.

I'm from Mpls (Wayzata) so GO TROJANS He dressed his 8th grade year but didn't play much, if I remember correctly. That's more of a testament to just how loaded Hopkins was than to Dearing's talent.
