Re: Yet another Barnes update
I get the feeling that Barnes wants to come to ISU and is looking for a reason (athletically) to stay here. If we can get some positive momentum going with a strong showing this season, I think we will have a very good shot at getting Barnes. Remember, academically, if he is considering Kansas there is no reason why he wouldn't chose ISU. The issue has to be athletically and for this reason I believe he won't make his decision until after he sees how ISU preforms this year.

Re: Yet another Barnes update
where does our business college as a whole rank in the country? that article said UNC was 12th.
this page says our Business Law program in 10th in the country: Lists of Top Undergraduate Business School Programs - Best Business Ethics, Law
but another page i say said that overall we're ranked 96th in 2008, behind Iowa. Undergrad - BSchools -
Re: Yet another Barnes update
We have a good business program. It might not be the best in the nation, but you can go places and do things with it. If you have every seen some of the ISU alums out there, we have allot of business school graduates that are now CEO's of major companies.
The other thing we have to watch for is the class other than Brackins and Gilstrap. If Brakins and Gilstrap dominate but everyone else is dudes, that is bad for us. Those are the two players that likely won't be back next season, so I have to imagine that Barnes is going to be watching our underclassmen.

Wow, what a great article, and what a great kid. Even if he was only half as talented as he is, I would still want him on the team because of his high character.

Duke and Stanford have also stressed to HB and his mom that he would be in a locker room with like-minded peers; future teammates who are as academically driven as he is. I hope ISU doesn't fall short in this area.

I hope ISU doesn't fall short in this area. That is, imo, a bunch of recruiting fluff. Duke really wanted John Wall, and are willing to take athletes that do not fit in with the Duke student body. The difference is marginal at best. Sounds like they got their recruiting angle form the admission departments, where they fail to reinforce that a successful undergraduate experience is highly dependent on self-motivation, not what school one attends.

Let's just say I had class with a majority of the team....they aren't going to be winning any intelligence prizes anything in the near future. Most of them aren't stupid, they just aren't real bright.
