DG without an outside shot is still the best option, unless Buck improves. It would be illogical to sacrifice all-around performance for just one aspect of the game.

We need DG to be a leader and to run the team. Does he need to improve his shooting? Of course he does. Can and is he still an effective player despite his shooting? Definitely. DG is going to play a huge role on this team next year, and to suggest he shouldn't be playing is just absurb. I understand your point about shooters, but Buck & Colvin just aren't ready yet to handle PG duties full time.

We do need solid 3-poit shooters, but with the way Dendy looked tonight it is going to be hard to double down on Brackins with him also in the game.

Re: 6/24 - Capitol City League
We all know that DG is limited. But he does do a lot of things very well and he's the only upperclassman guard with real experience. We need him next year and we need him to play well. JC Holloway wasn't a great shooter and didn't score much either but we all loved him. He also had the pieces around him to make the machine work. DG has been trying to drive the car with two flats and a busted fuel pump since he got here. I think we'll be surprised by him this year.

I think that we're agreeing on something related to ISU basketball, brother. -

He could probably step out and knock one down, but with his athleticism and toughness, I don't think we want him too. He's more skilled than I thought he would be. He can put on the floor inside and he has some decent post moves, but still a lot to work on. Watching him and Gilstrap, I couldn't help but think how well we can match up with Texas next year, at least in the front court. Now, that's saying a lot considering they have James, Johnson & Pittman back.

Is there a admission fee for attending the games?

Tinsley wasn't a good three point shooter, Fizer still did okay with him in the games. Point doesn't have to hit the three, someone has to be able to get to the hole, Lucca, Christopherson, Gilstrap, JVB, etc have to be the guys that can hit a three.

Is there a site that has the box scores of the games or are people just keeping track?

If you haven't been before, it's pick up basketball, and not much else. If you like to see a couple dunks, check out the new guys and maybe see a nice pass or two, then it's a good time.
Also, I should have pointed this out in my OP, but I watched Doug McDermott last night, and I realized he was overmatched going up against Dendy, but I just don't think he's someone ISU wants to be going after. He's got a lot of growing to do and I just don't know if he's tough enough to be playing post in the B12.

Exactly... its pretty rare for a kid to play basketball for 12 years or so, and then suddenly develop a good jump shot his junior year of college. At this point you can still improve but by this time players are either 3-point shooters or they are not.

Re: 6/24 - Capitol City League
Why do people compare Christopherson to Petey like it is a good thing? Petey should not have been playing D-1 ball.

JC Holloway also had one of the best ever assist to turnover ratio while he played in the Big 8. The guy never turned the ball over, and got the ball to our scorers. I would rather have a player like that then what we got out of DG the past 2 seasons....which was a ton of turnovers and many missed shots.
I do hope he plays that "leader role" better this year, spread the ball around....get it to our scorers and be more effective that way. Plus, keep the turnovers down to a minimum.
