Haha you call him out for not knowing basketball and than say something even further incorrect. For the record, I agree that Petey is a D1 player. Not a high major starter but a mid major player.
With that said there is literally no way he would be the best player for 25% of the teams out there. Not a chance. He doesn't have the athletisicm or size to be the best player. He is a role player no matter what team he is on.
And for the record....I loved Petey

That team would probably suck and the only difference would be Diante Garrett in place of Dedric Willoughby.

You are taking away one of the greatest SG's in ISU history, a guy who played some NBA ball, and replacing him with DG. You could replace him with a lot of guys (even guys that shoot well) and we would still suck

He's either our point guard or he needs to sit on the bench.

You can put Lucca at the SG position and that team may still stink. And he can shoot. Dedric was a special player that helped make that team. Take him off and you won't find many players that can fill his spot

Re: 6/24 - Capitol City League
Watch how DG dribbles. He stands straight up with the ball and dribbles high because he's 6'4". He's not a point guard. Watch how DG shoots from distance. He's not a shooting guard. Put him on the wing and give him the option of a side to drive to, and whether to go to the rim or dish it. That's what he can do. Does his pull up leave something to be desired? Yes. However, it was a beauty a few times last year and he's been working on it since. We have two guys down low that can step out and hit a midrange jumper. If Buckley can shoot a decent percentage we have a threat from outside. This still leaves Gilstrap room to find an open spot on the floor. That's how DG is most effective. Off-guard.

No, your point was stupid because you replaced Willoughby with DG when Willoughby is a great player and DG is a role player. If you can't see that difference that's not our problem. It's like saying if you replaced Jordan with Larry Hughes that team would suck because Larry Hughes can't shoot. No, it's because Larry Hughes sucks compared to Jordan.

Re: 6/24 - Capitol City League
I'm sure he'll see time at both positions but we better have a shooter at the 2 most of the time, as Brackins is gonna get a lot of attention inside.

Re: 6/24 - Capitol City League
Okay, just so we can get off of this Petey thing, I thought about this for a little bit and I came up with a better comparison for Chirstopherson (by the way, we have to get this guy a nickname as I'm tired of typing that last name). Anyway, here's who I came up with...
Bobby Frasor from UNC. Christopherson isn't as good, and maybe a tad smaller, but their games are very similar. They're both strong guards that have some quickness, a good shot, handle the ball well and can get into the lane and play D. Frasor was overshadowed by Lawson at UNC, but he was a valuable part of their championship run. If Christopherson can become a poor man's Frasor, or better, I would be very pleased.
